Question about Acer Aspire 5100 Notebook
Having the same problem as listed in this forums, with either reatek or just black screen with flickering white lines, i tried everything from hard disk to updating bios, to installing and unistallig windows xp, home, pro, vista nothing takes away this problem.
system works fine for a couple of hours then shuts down, and won't boot ater 15 restarts i will detect the hdd or dvd, is a fast computer with AMD turion64 x2 and 1gb ram, it's a shame this acer won't get steady anyone please help! I don't want to trow this laptop in the garbage!
1) It can be the mother board ( check for blown caps or a missing heat sink on the main chip if the heat sink is missing you can replace it. If blown caps replace the mother board. Capacitors are little cylynder shaped things on the morher board the tops should all be flat if they are pooched any they are blown)
2) it can be the processor make sure the heat sink is on it and the fan is turning. MAlke sure you don't have it over clocked and if the processor has been removed that they put heatsink paste back on it.
3) a power supply going out or over loaded can cause this problem as well.
