Question about Washing Machines

I have Samsung S1061 washing machine, if I choose an option "no spin" during a washing cycle, then after the cycle the water is still in the drum. Is there any way to remove it? Thanks! Larisa Unolt

I understood the advice was to contact local service, I can sure do that, but I still think maybe I am doing myself something wrong or not using something?

  • larisa_unolt Sep 14, 2010

The fact is when the spin option is on, then the water gets out, if the pipe was a problem then water would never get fully out, but I only have this problem with the spin option "off"

  • larisa_unolt Sep 14, 2010

Your advice: "starting a new cycle with no load and when machine starts filling, advancing manually the cycle to drain" - but there is no option "drain" in this model, how can I advance to it??

  • larisa_unolt Sep 14, 2010

    Yes, is was somewhat helpful.

  • larisa_unolt Sep 14, 2010

OK, thanks, I decided to try the service, it is a brand new machine - should be working...

Hi.

If the machine is completing the cycle normally, then the water can be removed by starting a new cycle with no load and when machine starts filling, advancing manually the cycle to drain.

If the machine is not draining properly on no spin cycle, then the pressure switch is slightly defective. Call the service number listed in the manual and report the problem to Samsung support.

    Hi.

Well that used to work on model with timer knob. Many new washer have an electronic control that does not allow advancing the cycle.

In that case you will not be able to use this shortcut.

The water can be partially removed using a sponge from inside the washer or accessing the drain hose connecting to the drain pump. On most Samsung front loaders this is accessible using the access door located on the front lower side, under the washer door. Disconnect power first and be ready to collect a good amount of water.

Since the problem is caused by a defect, I suggest instead fixing the problem. Move the appliance and ensure that the drain hose at the back is not kinked or blocked. Ensure that there is no blockage at the pump hose mentioned in paragraph before, and if that does not fix the problem, then the pressure switch must be replaced (this detects water level). In that case call the customer service number listed on Samsung use and care manual.

That is not completely true. When you spin, the spin centrifugal force helps the drain system by pushing water out. It is right in this situation that you may have problem caused by blockage, the increased pressure given by spin may help drain system in pumping water, for example through a kinked or blocked hose. Check firstfor blockage, if there is no blockage check the pressure switch.

Calling service is the best option, you have at least one or two years on service, and longer cover on parts.

    Have a good day.

The fault is that your drain pump or drain valve is not working. Now to check this out it will be good before we remove the unit to look from the bottom to see if there is power coming to the unit during the drain after the wash cycle. Now look at the drain hose which will lead you to this unit. Check the voltage using a multimeter in AC range. If voltage is present then remove the unit to check for open cirrcuitt or clogging. If so clean or replace as requried.
If voltage is not present then the program controller is faulty as it is not giving out the output.

what was meant is to check the drain pump during the cycle, I think there is no voltage feed to the pump and so this particular program is having the fault. So it can be the main program controller that is faulty.

I wonder if you don't have some sort of problem, as it should drain everything out regardless? maybe try putting on spin after you remove all the load?
I have include a link below, for your service and repair manual, use this to see if indeed you do have any problems, you may have a bad sensor, or perhaps the pump is partially blocked, that or maybe some hoses?

Now above is your service manual, below is your user manual, search through these for any remedies.

My Hoover 750 washing machine does not spin any more. What would cause that and can I fix it with a new part?

Hello.

The answer to your question is YES.

And below is the instruction on how to solve the problem.

The Hoover750 is a washing machine that offers many standard features and a few additional options, including energy saving cycles, variable spin and water pressure options and pre-wash, extra rinse and timer features. Available online and in select appliance, department or home retail stores, the Hoover washing machine should function well with basic maintenance and care. However, if individuals experience problems with the machine, some troubleshooting steps may be beneficial in locating the source of the issue and a potential resolution.

1. Ensure the Hoover washing machine is firmly connected to a grounded power supply if the machine is not working. Reset the circuit breaker if necessary.

2 Turn the main power switch to "On" and open and close the washer door firmly if the electrical outlet has power but the washer is not functioning. The washer will not operate if not turned on or if the door is open.

3 Verify the water inlet hoses are connected firmly and are turned on if there is no water flowing to the washing machine. Straighten out any kinks in the hoses and remove possible obstructions from the inlet screen.

4 Straighten the drain hose if the water is not draining from the unit. Remove any possible blockages from the drain hose. Tighten the hose if necessary.

5 Avoid selecting a "No Spin" option if the washer is not spinning water out of the drum. Choose a new spin cycle and press "Start" to remove water from the drum.

6 Verify that all four feet are touching the ground evenly if the washing machine is rocking or vibrating during use. Adjust as needed.

Thanks.

We have a Samsung WF8802 RPZ washing machine with a 5ud fault code. What is the problem?

We have a Samsung WF8604NGW front loading dimond 6kg washing machine. We had the 5ud error message. It turned out the filter was clogged with fluff from a new set of bathroom mats my wife washed. To fix: Put the machine on to drain (if poss) - should be 1 minute on our machine however as the machine was so clogged it took around 15 to finish. Also use the draning tube located next to the filter (on our machine) to get rid of as much water as poss. Now remove filter and clear (warning some water will remain in the system) Before spinning any laundry run the rinse cycle (with an empty drum) a couple of times and clear the filter each time. If the filter is still clogged the laundry will spin heavy as the water will still be in the drum leaving you with no very dry laundry and a horrible noise during the spin. Regards Rik.

Wont spin

Probably down to the water not emptying from the machine in the empty cycle and the machine won't spin because there's still water in the drum. If this is the case, the root of the problem is almost certainly a blocked filter, restricting the draining of the water and not allowing it all to pump out in time during the empty cycle. You probably need to find and clean your filter.

Machine makes awful noise during any movement, spins very slowly, not enough to spin out. Making an awful noise, like stripped gears and won't drain

There are three reasons for such awful noise during spinning. Either the drum or the bearing turning the drum. Check for drum bearing failure if your washing machine is noisy on the spin cycle. Drum bearing failure is common when the bearing seals start allowing water to enter. You can take the belt off and spin the drum by hand, and if the drum rumbles, replace the bearings.

Thanks

High speed drum rinse ..drum not spinning during rinse cycle

Clean out coin collector thoroughly. Replace drain pump if necessary. Water will drain if you can place drain hose on floor and let water siphon out.

WMA54 Hotpoint Aquarius drum does not turn during wash or spin

Start checking the lid switch, if this is stuck the machine wont start.

If the drum does not move at all, the motor, the motor control unit, the motor coupler, the control board may be faulty.

For more details you need to observe if machine is draining and pumping water inside during cycle, see: It doesn't spin
