Sorry you can no longer just replace the outdoor unit unless you are useing 410a freon r-22 has been discontinued and they no longer make these units they are a few still around but its diffuclt to find now you have to replace the whole system or just the compressor the epa decided that r-22 is destroying the ozone and this is the best way to resolve the problem they predict parts will still be around till 2030 if my info is helpful please give me a rating and or a vote

Wat is H3 error in bluestar split Ac?

Hello Yogesh...

Unless you are familiar with the BASICS of REFRIGERATION...
"H3" ERROR CODE means it is "Out of ORDER"...

Broken: Needs repair.

By searching the internet "split A/C " It defines a
COMPRESSOR overload protection is trying to
SAVE your equipment FROM SELF DESTRUCTION.

See second detail sheet (below)

"COMPRESSER"
Is the heart of MOST modern refrigeration systems.
In a SPLIT system it is the outside unit with the FAN
that should be running when the COMPRESSER is
in action. Typically then compressed & COOLED
REFRIGERANT is then piped into a cooling element
EXACTLY LIKE MOST REFRIGERATORS where the
cooling takes place (expansion valve and evaporator).

Treated AIR (indoor) is then blown through the
evaporator... cooling the room and warming the
refrigerant (which continues to cycle back to the
outside unit where the compressing cycle
continues until the INSIDE temperature is
achieved... (thermostat on the wall)

"COMBINED"
pretty much means EVERYTHING but those combined refrigeration units seen WORLD-WIDE HANGING OUT OF WINDOWS... or on roof-tops with DUCTING for
"treated AIR" to be pumped where needed.

Similarly heat pumps simply have reversible valves...
which turn the coils around (functionally).

There too are split-system (inside/outside) & combined units.

Is the condenser inside the unit

In a window unit the condenser is in the unit and is at the back of the outside section. With a split system or whole house cooling unit the condenser is always outside. The condenser compresses the cooling gas after it picks up heat from the inside evaporator, and forces the heated gas through a coil with a fan blowing through the coil to drive out the heat. A gas can be compressed, but the amount of heat it contains remains constant. A compressed gas will be hotter than non compressed.

times or more continuously.

0003 While the laser is ON, the horizontal sync signal cycle is outside a specific

range 20 times or more.

Main cause The wiring is faulty (short circuit, open circuit). The BD PCB is faulty. The

laser scanner unit is faulty. The DC controller PCB is faulty.

Action

OUTSIDE UNIT IS NOT ON - INSIDE BLOWER IS WORKING Circuit at fuse box seems to be ok - not sure how to check outside boc (Breaker UD35F2)

Doc, the outside compressor could be low on refrigerant gas or the condenser switch in the outside unit is faulty. One of the things that is most overlooked is a faulty wall thermostat. For now, it's a process of elimination to troubleshoot and solve the problem.

Is the fan on the outside unit supposed to turn when the heat is on or only for the air conditioner? Our unit is omitting a strange odor and the fan will not move even if we switch the unit to air...

The outside fan is used when ever the compresser needs to be cooled. So depending upon the outside temp as well as the temp of the refrigeration, it may not come on. When you say "our unit is ommiting a strange odor" are you refering to the outside condenser? or from the air handler? and what does it smell like? Please give us more to work with to be able to help you. Yes there are people looking and working on problems here at Fixya.com.

Leaking from inside unit

What is leaking? If it is water, you need to find the drain pipe leading from the inside unit to the outside of the house, and open up the obstruction in it. You could push a wire up through it, or send some compressed air up it. The drain pipe is probably near the ground next to the foundation or in the ceiling of an outside porch.
If this is a window unit leaking water you need to clean the obstruction out of the drain pipe or hole on the outside of the window, probably at the bottom outside rear of the unit.
I wasn't sure from your question if it is leaking water, or leaking refrigerant gas. If it's the gas you probably need to call an A/C repair service.
good luck,
genetuck

My outside a/c condensing unit's fan runs, but inside vent air is not cold. compresser may not be running. inside vent air was cold last week. Janitrol ckj361ab is model # of outside unit.

Start the unit and go outside to see if the insulated pipe is sweating or cold, hot air should be discharging from top of outside unit. Since the breaker is not tripping, my best guess is the compressor is not operating. You might have to replace the capacitor.

If you can hear the compressor operating, then most
likely needs refrigerant

Air conditioner constantly running, not cooling house

Check and see if it is froze up. Check big line at outside unit for ice. check filter and replace as needed. Check outside fan to see if it is running. Wash out outside coil If fan and compressor are running and has hot small line at outside unit. If not froze up and coil is clean you will need to call in a pro. If compress over heated you may need to wait for it to restart if coil was dirty. Again make sure out door fan and or unit is running and clean.
