Question about Samsung CLX-3160 All-In-One Laser Printer

Hi, I have a samsung clx-3160n printer. The colors seem out of alignment for instance if I print back text on a blue back ground I see white text on the blue background and a second line of black text on the blue. It is as if I need to calibrate the alignment. This is something I could do on an inkjet, is there a similar process for my laser printer?

    Hi

    My printer is installed on the network and the clients are Apple Mac's running OSx 10.6 using the latest driver from Samsung. I have since installed Windows 7 under a VM on the Mac and again downloaded the latest driver. I can not see a troubleshooting option on the windows driver :-(

    I have tried a few things tonight without success, 1st I should point out my computers are Mac's and not PC's but I have downloaded the latest drivers from Samsung. I have also tried installing a Windows 7 driver to a VM installation on the Mac, this prints but still has the same issue.

    I have been through the 2 manuals and am unable to find out how to do a 'colour' test print direct from the printer as the error is only apparent in colour. Also I see no reference to calibrating the print heads.

    Its late so I will have another look tomorrow

From Control Panel select Printers and right click on your printer. Select properties. There select Trouble shooting.. In trouble shooting s you would find and option to calibrate the printer. Do that.

This is not a printer problem. this is to do with the software settings for the program you are using to print with.
The printer can only print, the codes it is sent from the program that is sending data.
Check to make sure you have the correct and latest driver for your printer as well.
make sure your software you are using is up to date and the latest versions again, or any upgrades that need to be done are done.
IF your printer can print a test page OK, then this proves it is OK, and it is the software that's the problem. Right click, on the printer icon, and select properties, when it opens select Print Test Page. Now if this prints out all colors OK then you can be sure it is the software, it also will pay to perform all the Print Head alignment procedures etc, too though before trying to track down the problem in the software. If it indeed proves to be software, then check, settings in the printer properties, the Fonts, Font colors etc.

Dear user,

You have to select monochrome print settings first. go to properties of your printer and choose the tab where you get to select between B&W and color.

3175fn is acolor printer. if you want to set only grey or black only print. you have to go to printers & fax. select the printer right click properties and go to color and set as gery or black only print.

Brand new Samsung multi-function CLX-3175FN prints a shadow or "ghost" image in color.


Have you done a print head alignment? If yes, and that did not fix it, take it back before you warranty runs out. Most modern day electronic devices work perfect but when they don't they also do it perfectly.

The only things you can do is print head alignment and making sure when you installed those nice new print cartridges that they are pushed in all the way. To try and test anything else will cost money and since this is a brand new device it is best returned.

Printing problem


Is it clean? Most ink jet printers have a simple user procedure for cleaning the print heads. You may have to clean them periodically or after the printer has been idle for a few days or weeks. If you see funny colors or print-outs are missing colors, a cartridge may be empty or a head dirty. You may have to clean a head many times to get it working again.

This is the Document feeder Glass/or Platen glass cleaning issue or CCCD/CIS problem.

First try cleaning the glass else you need to change the CCD/CIS module.

Samsung 3160N - clicking sound but printing okay


Check the toner cartridge make sure it is all the way in. Also full out all those toner cartridges and check the gear that rotates when you print see if there is no broken teeth. This happens on mine too.
