6 beeps - Keyboard Controller / Gate A20 Failure
7 beeps - Virtual Mode Exception Error
8 beeps - Display Memory Read/Write Failure
9 beeps - ROM BIOS Checksum Failure
10 beeps - CMOS Shutdown Register Read/Write Error

Phoenix BIOS BEEP codes. 1-1-3 CMOS write/read failure.
1-1-4 BIOS ROM checksum error.
1-2-1 System timer failure. (Programmable Interval Timer PIT)
1-2-2 DMA (direct Memory Access) failure.

Long beeps not booting up


problem....the beeps are beep beep beep beep..........contiues...........plus the computer will then not recieve signal????

The PC does not start.Only it beeps and a red light blinks,also fen is not working.


here are some of the basic codes, depending on which BIOS you have...

Also you do not indicate which fan? I would guess you mean the main Power Supply (PS)? In which case it could just be you need to replace the PS.

Do you get video? If so then it could be a stuck key on the keyboard.

Do you get no video? If so then reseat the RAM.
