You are still in the warrranty period of one year and it is most adviceable not to tamper it so as to lose the priviledge.
So please get in touch immediatley with your dealer.
Only If there is no help do you need to open the base and check the leads from plug to the motor for continuity. if voltage is present then motor may be faulty.

How do I change the fan in my riccar vacummn?

It depends on which model you have. Most models have a fan that will never need replaced. Tandem air and Supralight models have a fan that could be damaged on older models but is unlikely on newer models as fan are now made from a flexible material. Remove the motor assembly and disassemble to get to the fan. Remove the nut from. The shaft and remove the fan. Install new fan and put back together in reverse order as it was taken apart.

Hi marilynh57....
Try removing the fan blades and putting them into different positions.
This will sometimes solve your wobbling problem as some fan blades are heavier than others and this causes the wobble you experiance.

How to assemble the hawaiian breeze oscillating floor fan

I cannot find exact instructions but I did find a general guide to assembly. they are usually very easy to assemble.

A standing fan is a portable fan that has a set of three oscillating blades on a long neck. The neck, also called the pole or the leg, is mounted on the floor. Standing fans have evolved from their origins as noisy accessories that blew away papers in their vicinity to silent fans whose direction can be controlled remotely. When placed at a convenient location, a standing fan can distribute air evenly to the entire room. Its speed can be controlled, and many standing fans can be programmed to stop at a set time.

  1. Installation Requirements
    • The only requirement for installing a standing fan is making sure it is near a power source. The entire unit can be assembled manually with only a screwdriver. A single standing fan, either an oscillating or pedestal fan, is very simple to assemble for basic home use.
    Pole and Base
    • The first step is to lay the parts on a floor. Then assemble the pole on the base of the stand. This is very simple, because the grooves for the screws are already drilled, so the screws just need to be inserted and screwed in. Screwing the pole into the base of the fan is required on some models; on others, the pole and the base are molded together and no screws are needed.
    Motor and Fan Installation
    • One some fans, you have to install the motor and oscillating arm to the pole. This again is done by screwing screws into predrilled holes. Grooves for long screws are at the top end of the pole, where they attach to the motor of the fan. Once the motor is placed on the top of the pole, insert the screws in the predrilled holes and tighten the screws. The next step is to wire the three blades. This is done by taking the wires from the motor and joining them to the sockets in the pole. This finishes the assembly procedure.
To turn the fan on, ensure that the wires fit securely together. A loose connection cannot not only hamper the performance of the fan, it can also lead to problems such as electrical shocks or burning wires.

I hope this helps

good luck

Hi. I have misplaced the remote for my Aloha Breeze ceiling fan. How can I get a replacement?

Look on this site http://www.searspartsdirect.com/partsdirect/brands-products/Aloha-housewares-Inc-Parts/Fan-Parts;jsessionid=EhpYk2SBMad9Blbgl+MKrg**.pdapp401p2 to see if they have the model number and part. You'll probably find that the replacement part costs near as much as the whole thing did tho.

Need white translucent globe for Harbor Breeze Ceiling Fan to cover light. Globe fits to fan base with 6-1/4" Inside diameter mounting ring and is secured with three thumb screws.

I believe Harbor Breeze is sold through the Home Depot. Any well stocked Home Improvement store will carry a great selection of replacement globes for your light.

I have a model 484 709 UPC 792145330547 The fan/light is close to ceiling (instalation). Their is supposed to be an "o" ring to remove the fan/light from the celling. I cannot find it!!! ...

Remove the cowl at the ceiling by removing the screws in the cowl (very close to the ceiling). Use caution in removing them as the weight of the fan may be carried by these screws. Depending on the style, though, the weight may be borne by supports beneath the cowl. Either way, this will get you access to the wiring, allowing you to change out/remove the fan. If the fan and cowl are together, and close to the ceiling, there is usually a method of hanging the assembly while the wiring connections are made during installation. Look for a hook that the screw hole will go over, supporting the fan.

Best regards,

Th end of the shaft that come from the motor is worn out, and won't hold the belt well. How do I change it?

Hello,

Thanks for the clarification. I have never seen this problem previously in a Kirby. I wonder if the belt keeps sliding off because it's been stretched out? After about 1-2 years, the belts on the Kirby will stretch out to a point where there can possibly slide off the motor shaft. Have you tried just replacing the belt on the unit first?

If you're sure that it's not the belt that may be stretched out, and you'd like to replace the motor shaft, you certainly may do this. The only problem with this is the motor shaft is not sold by itself as a separate part. The only way to purchase this motor shaft is to purchase the entire fan assembly, which includes a new fan, and the hardware necessary on the fan assembly.

Here's a parts diagram that shows you the motor shaft is sold only in a completely assembly:
http://lib.store.yahoo.net/lib/vacuumcleanerbacgs/kirby-generation-parts-diagram.pdf

If you haven't already purchased the motor shaft, here's a direct link to the motor shaft and fan assembly on our website:
Kirby Generation Fan Assembly With Motor Shaft and Hardware

In terms of installing it, we've actually recorded a video repair on how to replace the fan assembly, which involves removing the motor shaft in order to get the fan off. Since you have to purchase the fan assembly anyways in order get the motor shaft, you may want to go ahead and replace your fan assembly at this time also. Even though your fan may not be broken, on Kirby's the fans can become coated with dirt and fine dust, which can sometimes lead to the Kirby exhausting a bad smell. If you'd rather not replace the fan, you may remove the motor shaft without disassembling the entire machine, you'll just need to secure the fan somehow so that the fan doesn't spin while you're using a nail to turn the motor shaft off.

Anyways, here's the video repair that we recorded. I hope that this helps you. KIRBY G4 FAN ASSEMBLY ORDER

First put the gasket on the spacer, thin end to to out, push it down all the way on the motor shaft, then put the nylon washer on, then the fan, metal washer and then the pulley, just snug it, (don't tighten too much just beyond hand tightening). Put the casing, top and handle back on.
