How do I change the aperture on my N6006? And what do I change it to? I keep getting a fE E error message.

That depends on the exposure mode.

In any of the P modes, turn the aperture ring on the lens to its smallest aperture (largest aperture) and lock it. You control the exposure by turning the command dial on the camera.

In S mode, lock the aperture ring as above. Turning the command dial changes the shutter speed and the aperture changes to match.

In A mode, control the aperture by turning the aperture ring on the lens and the shutter speed with change to match.

In M mode, control the aperture by turning the aperture ring on the lens and control the shutter speed by turning the command dial.

If the lens doesn't have an aperture ring, you can only use the P and S modes.

My Hossiblad 501cm won't accept my lens anymore. It worked fine up until recently. When I place the lens into the body it turns but does not lock in.

Maybe the lens and the body is "out of sync"?
Check the little slottet screw-like thing in the buttom of the lens. If the shutter in the lens has been released, this little screw needs turning until the shutter is cocked. The slot should be parallel to the edge of the lens.

My new cannon rebel isnt working, the lens will focus but the screen is black. cannot get the shutter to activate

Mirror mechanism is locked up and probably out o synch with the rest of the shutter cocking mechanism. sometimes there is enough power in battery to focus lens, but not enough to power the winder/shutter/miror mecansim- check the battery

Camera will not recognize the lens

Hi, I have a Minolta 7D. I bought an M42 screw lens adapter, an almost flat plate, however the camera kept saying "no lens detected". Then somewher on the web I found a solution: On the menue screen I found "Shutter Lock" with the choice On or Off. By switching to off I can now use 42mm lenses. Though there is no AF and the metering works with setting the aperture manually. Good luck and maybe you find the Sony to be the same.

Mamiya RZ 67 lens is stuck on body

This is likely because the shutter has not been cocked all the way. Return the lens to the fully locked position and advance the film with the lever all the way down to reset the shutter. If it still doesn't work, move the lever to M for multiple exposure, make sure the back is aligned and trip the shutter release. Then fully **** the shutter again by pressing the advance lever down fully and again until it is reset. Then try to remove the lens again.

Shutter release solution

With no lens (or a non-CPU lens) the camera must be in Manual (M) mode or the shutter locks.

Push the small white button down and turn the select to B or Flash mode the shutter should fire at 1/60th sec. in flash mode. As long as you want in B mode. Turn select to A
put lens on and check shutter speed in finder. Rotate F stop on lens and bring shutter speed to over 1/100 sec. push shutter button, it should fire at the speed you selected.
If not check battery cap and contacts in bat. holder, clean with pencil eraser if needed. Be careful with contacts in holder.
If it still locks up remove lens and rotate to F/16 push metal pin in and check operation of diaphragm, it should be smooth and pin return quickly.
If the shutter still locks in auto that's about it---- no parts are available
