Question about Visioneer OneTouch 5800 Flatbed Scanner

1 Answer

Windows 7 cannot connect with scanner. Also only wants to burn a disk instead of installing from disk. More details. Scanner is plugged in and on. USB is connected to USB Hub, Hub is connected to computer. Downloaded drivers but that doesn't seem to help. Still says drivers are not available. I thought after I downloaded them that Windows7 would find the drivers. Don't know what else to try; Judie

SOURCE: Windows XP does not recognize the Handheld scanner.

My guess is that the USB hub needs to be plugged in ... if for some reason the usb hub doesn't allow you to plug it in then you need to get one that you can plug in... because I believe the scanner is using more power that the usb port can power. Scanner usually need to be plugged directly into the computer or they need to be plugged into a powered hub.

I hope this helps!!!

SOURCE: error message: enable to connect with scanner

Part of the problem may be that Visioneer did not develop any drivers for Vista considering that the 5800 had reached E-O-L.

I have just installed Windows 7 and cannot get my Canon 9900f scanner to connect - it was previously installed with Windows XP. How can I obtain the correct Windows 7 software?

You have to go the the Canon website, follow links for support and downloads. You may have to enter details of your operating system and Scanner model as you go. You're looking for Win 7 drivers.

I have a BenQ 4300 scanner and a windows 7 computer. need drivers for it

If you plug the scanner in, Windows 7 should just automatically detect the scanner and install the correct driver for it. Try doing a windows update, if it locates a newer driver, if not, then BenQ may not have created a Vista / 7 compatible driver.

I can not find driver suitable for scanner CP-HR7X to work in Windows 7

Hi.
I can use HR7X under windows 7 64bits, but not easy.
1) disconnect de power of scanner.
2) install the driver V2.1 (21Mb)
3) reboot
4) plug the power cord of scanner
5) cancel windows instalation
6) install the driver manually (c:\programs files\scannerU)

Now you have the KYESCAN.exe in the Colorpage folder.
7) run kyescan
8) at the scanner panel press SCAN button
9) wait, the kyescan will open a program like Photoshop or CorelDraw.
10) Now you can Acquire a image (File-> acquire -> via)

Note: you have to use kyescan. If you try to use direct from a image program the PC will not find de scanner.

That's all.
Forgive me my poor english.

Scanmaker 3800 works perfectly with XP. Vista reports : scanner not readt check connections. Would appreciate a so;ution. Device Manager also reports device is working, No conflicts.

This works for Windows 7 I think it works for vista too:
You can download: ScanWizard 5 version 6.63 Here: ftp://microtek:microtek@files165.cyberlynk.net/microtek/pcfiles/drv_sw5_v6_63_ad.exe
Extract to folder on desktop. 1. Plug in your Scanner 2. Go to Control Panel (Windows 7 - 64 and 32 bit) 3. Go to Device Manager 4. Go to Imaging devices (or Other devices) 5. Find what windows have installed Right Click 6. Update Driver Software.. 7. Click - Browse my computer for driver software 8. Click - Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer 9. Click - Have Disk 10. Browse to your desktop or position where you extracted 6.63, point to "....drv_sw5_v6_63_ad\Disk1\Vista\AMD64\..." Pick any of INF files I picked first 11. You will see 4800 Scanner and USB 2.0 Scanner, I picked first 4800 then USB 2.0 and both works.
I managed before to do it with simple install but well, it works .. ;)

Same problem.Scanner does not connect to my PC with Windows XP

Did you plug the scanner's USB cable into the computer, BEFORE you installed the drivers?

This can lead to a driver conflict.
When a hardware device is connected to a computer, Windows automatically sets out to match up drivers for it. If no driver is found that ->directly matches the device, Windows matches up one of it's generic drivers. Kind of a "One size fits all", type of thing.

Then THE drivers are installed. Now Windows has a conflict of drivers.
Windows: "Do I use these, or THESE?"

Suggest you unplug the USB cable from the scanner to computer, (If plugged in) Turn the scanner off, and unplug it from power.

Then go to All Programs, (Start>Hover your mouse on All Programs), and look at the list to the right for the Agfa Snapscan software.
See if an "Uninstall" option is listed. If so click on it. (If it asks if you wish to save preferences - NO!)

If not, go to Add/Remove Programs, (Start>Control Panel>Add/Remove Programs), and find the Afga software in the list. Click on Remove.

DO NOT restart your computer, (Even if it asks)
Shut your computer down normally. (Start>Turn Off Computer>Shut Down)
Unplug your computer from power.

Press the Power ON button in, and Hold it in for a count of at least Five seconds. (Count, 1001,..1002,..1003,..1004,..1005)
Let go of the Power On button.
Do This ->Two more times.

What you are doing is clearing any CMOS Error Codes, (And resetting BIOS back to the factory default settings)

Plug your computer back into power. WAIT 1 minute, then turn it on.
After Windows has fully loaded, install the drivers from the CD disk you burned them to. If you didn't save the drivers to a CD disk, download the drivers again. Install them with the Installation Wizard.

After you're done, restart your computer.
After Windows has fully loaded again, plug the scanner back into power. If it sounds like it's resetting itself, wait until it's done. Now plug the USB cable into the computer from the scanner, turn the scanner on.

Computer unable to detect scanner connection

Sometimes it is best to click start, then control Panel, and then Hardware. It will give you a choice of clicking cancel and inserting the manufactuer's disk at this point or allowing it to scan your computer to find any recent hardward hooked up. I assume this is a USB cable that goes from your scanner to a USB plug on your computer. If you have the installation disk, allow it to go through the procedure. Note: If it is USB and you plug it in, Windows should find it and ask if you want to install it. It will ask if you have the installation disk, or if you want to choose it from a designated location, or a list of hardware devices Windows has. Using the installation disk of course is the best way to go. If not let Windows show you the list. Try these. If it still doesn't work, there is another way.
