Question about E-Machines eMachines Desktop PC
When a restore disc won't do, here's what to do. Find someone with a retail OEM Vista Disc of the same version of your machine. You should have a COA sticker on your PC with a valid Vista License #.
Boot up the Vista disc, run setup, if it asks for the serial give it. If it gives you problems, call Microsoft and tell them you don't know where the "blank" disc you got came from but you have a valid COA sticker and you want them to give you a Validation code RIGHT NOW. They'll do that.
After you have Vista running, go to your machines support site on the web and download the drivers for your OS to the desktop in a new folder you made for them and install them.
You may have to download the LAN driver on a memory stick on a friends puter to load on yours to get you connected to the net to download the rest.
This is very general but you'll get good at it.
