Question about Belkin Computers & Internet

Open Question

I have just bought Belkin Wireless router F6D4639-4 V2 for my home use as well as for my communication Echolink. I must say that Belkin is extremely good for my home internet usage especially the wireless. I have great difficulty in configuring the portforwarding for Echolink. According to Virtual Server, I went through the list of application provided, I cannot find Echolink. That is where I have difficulties in setting up my Belkin for Echolink. I need to configure the UDP destination ports 5198 - 5199 between internet and PC in both direction and allow TPC(destination port 5200) from PC to internet. Other model of Belkin do not have this problem except on this F6D4630-4 V2 (S/No.12943463005458). Much appreciated if you could kindly help me to solve this problem. Thank you. Looking forward for an early reply. God bless. Thank you. P.K.Chin from Malaysia.

SOURCE: Problem using Wa1003A and Tew 432 brp to share my internet

lan wires are the same. lan wires used to connect your computer to your modem can also be used to connect your Wa1003A adsl router and TEW 432 brp.

you just got some things mixed up.

1. you should set your Wa1003A adsl router to bridge mode. At this point, it will just be "pass through" device and will not be the one who will ask for IP adds from your ISP.

2. configure your TEW 432 brp with your pppoe username and password. Your TEW 432 brp will now ask the network for the IP address to that it can connect to your ISP.

3. leave your lan wires the same.

SOURCE: How do I portforward my GT704WG to UDP 5198 and

It is important in order to setup port forwarding on your router that your computer has a static IP address assigned. Port forwarding will not work properly without. If you don't know how to do it, look at this guide for different operating systems (or come back here and leave a comment with your operating system details and I walk you through the steps.)

Once that is done, open a web browser and enter the IP address of your router in the address bar. the default IP address should be

  1. When you are logged in, click the Setup / Configuration link.
  2. Then click the Advanced Setup link in the left panel of the page.
  3. Click the Begin Advanced Setup button.
  4. Click the Port Forwarding link in the left panel of the page.
  5. Enter the values 5198 and 5199 in the IP Port Range fields.
  6. Select UDP from the drop-down menu and the static IP address of your computer in the IP Address field.
  7. Click Add.
  8. When you have entered all ports you want to forward, click Save and Restart in the left panel of the page to save your changes.
If you have any more questions, just come back here and leave a comment - I'm happy to help.

If you have forgotten the password, reset the Belkin by pushing and holding the reset button for 30 seconds or so and release, this will reset to default settings. Connect and reconfigure the SSID and Security Key. You may want to write down the password and store for future use. Belkin Support:

Using 2 routers

You may use your wireless router as an Access Point:

1. Connect one of the LAN port of the Belkin to a LAN port on your Voyager. If the link light on both side are not coming on, try using a cross-over cable. Important: Do not connect anything to the WAN port of your Belkin.

2. Configure the LAN IP address of your Belkin in the same subnet as the Voyager. By example, if your Voyager has, you may give your Belkin

3. Disable the DHCP server on the Belkin since the Voyager most likely already has one.

4. Configure the Wireless parameter of your Belkin as you would normaly do.

Using this method, your wired and wireless devices will be able to communicate together since they will be on the same network and your Belkin will act as a bridge between the wired and wireless network.
