According to the service manual, there is an output failure. It's not off of the phone jack ckt.
Either a short at one output or output amp fail.
Probably will need service

Clips out

It's protect mode. The amp is drawing too much current. Drawing too much current causes your amp to heat up. So heat could be the issue as well. Does it do it instantly? If so. Could be that it isn't being supplied with enough voltage to run. Again power? There are a few fixes you can do. But again we need to know more of the symptoms. Try other things. Like Rev your car a little and then turn it up? Does it reset instantly after you turn it of and back on? More info.

Amp never shuts off and protect light will come on when turned up

Just to make sure I understand you, when the protect mode turns on the amp still stays on? If so my guess would be that you are pushing the subs so hard that the amp is just starting to clip (distort) because you are pushing either the amp or the subs or amp and subs to their limits. Clipping is not a good thing, but at the same time it usually sounds the best just before clipping. You may need larger gauge wire or a capacitor to help the amp get higher voltage. I will post a link on clipping.

I'm not sure this is your problem just my guess.

Hope this helps.

My nitro bmw-486 amp is in protect mode how can I

Disconnect all speaker connections and rca cables. Leave power, ground and remote wires intact. Try turning on again. If you still have a protection light your amp is faulty. Hopefully you have warranty De .A thumbs up would be greatly appreciated if this answer is helpful to you. nitro-bmw-486-amp-in-protect-mode-lv2kkrmxrai4iihdvw4m3np2-1-0.jpg

Power overload

That is a good thing, your receiver is going into "protect mode" that means the receiver is shutting down to keep from damaging delicate internal circuitry, it is sensing a speaker bottoming out or some other electrical "short" that could be damaging!
Also could be from over driveing the amp and then it starts to overheat thus going into "protect mode".
If your speakers are "clipping or distorting" turn it down, you are going to ruin your amp. Good luck !

AMp does not display any LED read out

Amps have a part inside that is made to keep the channels equal. The problem is that when there is nothing hooked up to the second channel, then this goes bad and goes into protect. It is really hard on an amp to use just one channel.

LA-1030 Protect Mode

you have an unloaded channel,so the voltage is exceeding what the protect circuit is supposed to see.you have to connect an 8 ohm resistor across the output of the unused channel.
do not drive a signal into it or you will smoke the resistor.
a 10 watt will do ok with zero signal input

When i turn up the volume on my head unit my amp goes into protect mode or when i turn up the bass

You likely have a speaker with a swollen voice coil. Voice coil becomes hot due to under powered amp being clipped. Voice coils swells and rubbs. shoteing amp output causing amp to go into protect. replace speaker before amp is damaged. The more capacity an amp has wattage rating. the easier it is on speakers. Most speakers are damaged by underpowered amps being clipped rrather that too high of amp reting.

Infinity Reference 7541a protect & Clip lights come on

Hello pianopeter, I have the same amp with the same problem but only when the crossover mode switch on the front channel is set to low pass or high pass. Have'nt fixed that yet cause when I got the amp and put power to it the clip and protect lights would flash back and forth. I turned out to have 2 bad output transistors on the right front channel, I replaced them and amp works great now. Then when I was doing final testing I switched the crossover mode switch to lowpass and your problem occured. I do believe the problem is in the removable board which controls the controls the crossover and input to a point. Try moving the crossover mode switch to flat on both front and rear and let me know if amp works fine that way. I'll be working on this problem soon but would like to know if your problem changes if you move the switch to flat. Please leave me a message as soon as you find out cause this will aid in the process of me fixing problem. I am an electronics tech and buy and fix broken amps all the time so I have a really good knowledge of car amp repair. Once again let me know ASAP, Thanks

Unit is in protect mode there are a few problems that can trigger protect mode the most common is blown channel (shorted outputs). Sometimes one of the 15v regulators may go bad causing imbalance of supplys triggering protect mode. Also sometimes a bad solder connection could cause unit to go into protect also. I work for Denon authorzied repair center in Michigan if your nearby and Shipping to Michigan is economical let me know kstahl65@att.net

Amp going into protect mode

If you set the gain too high on the AMP, at loud volume levels some clipping or distortion of the output signal will occur. Most amps have a Circuit inside that detects this clipping or distortion and applies protection to prevent damage to the speakers and the amp. It would help to know if you are driving the speakers with a Line level output or using the speaker output from your deck. There are many things that can cause an amp to go into protect mode, and knowing a little more about your setup will help to solve the problem.
