Question about Heating & Cooling

1 Answer

I have a Sta Rite Max E Therm pool heater and when I start the unit, the fan kicks on but the heater never does. After 45 seconds or so, I get a " Service Heater" light. The circuit board had leds for limit switch, pressure switch, air sensors, etc, but none are lit. The ignition contol module has a blinking red led which the manual says is a "ignition lockout" issue. What is an ignition lockout? Do I need to replace the HSI Ignitor? Or could it be something other than ignitor? Thanks

Sta-Rite Max-e-Therm pool heater shows error code AD0 and SF1 what does this mean

These pool heaters have a detailed users manual that has a great troubleshooting guide. I would try there first. They ask alot of questions that you have to be looking at the heater to answer. Here is a link to an online version.

Sta rite 400na gives error code 05 after about 30 seconds

I am not sure if you have received an answer to the issue, or not, but just in case! An EO5 error code is an open stack flue sensor, or switch, There are two forms of the stack flue sensor, so you will need to know which one you have on the heater.

What this error code means is that the sensor "read" the flue temp to be over 500 degrees. Usually, it is just gone bad and reading the wrong temp.

Sta Rite Sr333na Max E Therm Pool & Spa Heater gauge stuck?

Anytime the heater is reading the water temp to be above what it actually is, especially 126, the problem is the Thermistor, or Temp Sensor, for the heater. This is a very easy part to replace. The Thermistor is located on the manifold, on the left side, between the top two bolts.

Sorry this is a late response! Hope that it helps!
