SOURCE: S.M.A.R.T Command failed
It means that the hard disk SMART monitoring system has detected problems serious enough to warn you of the growing possibility of hard disk failure. Sometimes a drive will last quite awhile after this first notification, but there is a good chance of imminent failure, in minutes, hours, days, or weeks. You should immediately look into installing a replacement drive.
You should immediately copy any important data off the drive, perform full backups, and limit use of it.
If you can install drives yourself, a new hard disk (especially Seagates) usually come with software to clone your existing drive to the new drive. Otherwise, a repair shop will be able to do it for you.
I recommend also purchasing a drive enclosure for your old drive. For whatever life it still has, it will be a good backup of your system.

It is recommended to do a hard drive backup as soon as possible. And even replace that hard drive as soon as possible. Before full physical failure.

SOURCE: When I was trying to
this is a warning your hard drive is about to fail
you could run the check disk utility
click start run type cmd then type chkdsk/r/f which will scan for and attempt to repair any bad sectors and automatically fix any corrupt files on your hard drive then defragment your hard drive
hope this helps

When you get that error it means one of these two: the hard drive is dying or it doesn't support the S.M.A.R.T. technology. If you are sure it's SMART capable, then it means it's dying.
You can download testing tools for HDD and test your hard drive. There are a few tools available on Hiren's Boot CD, you can download the CD image from Hiren's website: http://www.hirensbootcd.org/ under Download menu on the left side.
