Question about PC Desktops

1 Answer

Frequent restarts My computer crashed a few days back and for some reason my system recovery funtion was not working (and still isnt) so I reloaded windows...this has caused nothing but problems. 1) i think the old, corrupted version of windows XP is still running because when I start up I have to select one of 2 different XP options so Id like to somehow get rid of the corrupted version 2) ever since this happened my computer will restart itself when it becomes too stressed. I thought this might be because of a problem with the heat sink or fan so I opened it and put a fan up to the inside to cool it...the problem still persists... 3) since reloading windows, I plugged my ethernet cable into the back and it doesnt recognize that it is even connected to a network, Ive tried the connection wizard and all that but still nothing. Ive lived in 3 apartments in 3 years and everytime i move i just plug the cable in and its good to go... If anyone can help me with any of these problems i would appreciate it.

1 problem. if you can, take the harddisk and format it complety.
but if you have a rocvery system on it you may should consider if it's a good thing.
please let me know and I will help you.

2. maybe I'm stupid but check if the CPU fan is working problely. consider installing a bigger or overclock the CPU fan. I can tell you how to.

3. the formatting and reinstalling of windows should fix that problem.

hope that my solution helped you forward.

I wanna know how to reset my laptop back to factory settings Gateway windows 7 model# NEW90 NV59C

usually if you dont get a recovery disc with your laptop you would then use those discs to reload the system from scratch. the other is that you would have to create recovery discs as soon as you started using the laptop. if the sales person did not make you aware of it then he is a very bad sales person. the other solution would be to go to the web-site of the manufacturer of the laptop and under the support section or drivers and downloads you will find drivers and recovery disc image or iso or a self extracting file which you will then have to copy to disc then use the created disc to reload the system

How do i do a factory reload for acer desktop

Hi! follow the steps to reload the system to factory settings:

Restore without a recovery cd:
This recovery process will restore the C: drive to the original software content that is installed when you purchase your notebook. It is important to back up all data files before you use this option.

1.Restart the system.
2.While the Acer logo is showing, press <Alt>+<F10> at the same time to enter the recovery process.
3.The message "The system has password protection. Please enter000000." is displayed.
4.Enter six zeros and continue.
5.The Acer Recovery main page appears.
6.Use the arrow keys to scroll through the items(operating system versions) and press <Enter> to select.

hope this helps...

Acer aspire not loading to windows

Hi,

If you have recovery disc or back up disc put it in and restart the PC and start tapping the F12 key until at the Acer splash screen, you should get now see your boot order, now use your up and down cursor key to highlight the CD/DVD drive and then press enter, this will now start the recovery disc that you put in, just follow the on-screen instructions.

If you don't have a disc, restart the PC and at the Acer splash screen start tapping the ALT+F10 or just F10 and if you have a recovery partition on your hardrive then the recovery program will start up, just follow the on-screen instructions.

Thanks

Computer crashes

This could be one of many different problems. When did this actually start? It could be a problem with the power supply, it could be a problem with the motherboard or cpu, there could be a problem with the actual operating system itself. This is the steps i would recomend
1) Format and Reload your os and drivers etc, if this doesnt work move to step 2
2) Change the power supply to a new one or a computer that works. Borrow one from someone so that you dont have to pay for it only to disconver it isnt the problem
3) Do the same with your expansion cards
4) Do the same with your cpu
5) Do the same with Motherboard
Somewhere down the line you will know what your problem is and that is the part you will have to replace

Sony All in one desktop Clicking/Screen doesnt illuminate etc

Because it does this a few times and then boots the day may some when it wont give you even one chance. Try Doing full system restore after backing up your personal stored data.Dont waste any time Your boot sector has a problem maybe from a virus, and I have heard some viruses act slowly so you will eventually crash

Recovery...

You don't want to do a eRecovery, eRecovery is used to format the hard drive and install the drivers like you just got it. You want to do a system restore.

1. Click on the Start bar to the bottom left of your screen
2. Select All Programs
3. Select Accessories
4. Select System Tools
5. Select System Restore
6. Click Next
A calender will come up, select the day it was working, probably the day before, click next. After this the computer is going to restart. All done.

Have a nice day!

Re-Loading Software

Since they installed a generic copy of xp, there are none of the sony installed add-ons present on the computer. go here to view the available downloads for your system provided by sony, you will have to select the "EVERYTHING" tab to see the giga downloads if it does not load there.
Otherwise you will have to contact sony for a recovery disk specific to your system.
