I made a mistake in my description. I have a Minolta color pageworks printer. I used it a few weeks ago. Now, when it is starting up in the warm up phase, it is making a loud grinding noise. I have changed all of the toners thinking that would solve the problem but it does not. It still make noise. It sounds like the noise is coming somewhere in the bottom of the printer towards where all of the toners are. Any help would be appreciated.

I just noticed something else, when the printer is finished warming up the noise stops. I tried to do a print out the printer configuration and nothing prints. It goes through the motion of printing but blank paper comes out and the paper is crumbled. I do not understand how that could be as I just bought 4 new toners. The printer is acting as if there is no toner in it.

Thank you for responding..... I am in need of some serious help.......

This printer is a not on the network but connected to a computer. I printed from it a few weeks ago. Not sure if you saw my other comment but when it is in the warm up phase it makes a loud grinding noise. It warms up and the noise stops and then it says "ready". When you try to print, it still makes the grinding noise. I have changed all of the toners thinking that would solve the problem but it still makes the grinding noise. It sounds like the noise is coming somewhere in the bottom of the printer where the toners are.

I tried to do a print out the printer configuration and nothing prints. It goes through the motion of printing but blank paper comes out and the paper is crumbled. I do not understand how that could be as I just bought 4 new toners. When I go through the configuration menu it says "replace toner". It does not recognize the new toners.

Thanks for your assistance. Any light you can shed on this is MUCH appreciated.

When was the last time it printed successfully? Is it directly attached to a computer or on a network? It sounds like the spooler has an issue but I need a bit more information here...

Let me know the answer to these questions and I will definitely help you further.

Thanks
Tim

It is definitely the print spooler that is having an issue, the actual part that grabs the paper and processes it through the toner / fuser. This is basically a mechanical malfunction. It can be repaired but there is no easy fix or replacement part that you can just order to pop in such as a toner. Since you have so many toners for this model printer I would suggest you replace it with another one of the same unit. Do you have the full model number of the unit and I will see if I can find any reduced cost replacements.

    Thanks
    Tim

I need a driver for minolta pageworks 20 that will work with Windows 7, where can I find one?

In Windows 7 in the Devices and Printers box, choose Add printer, then click on Add a local printer, choose existing port if one is already created (Parallel Port or IP Port) or if you have a Network card installed create new port and go to Standard TCP/IP Port. Enter the IP Address of the printer (It will also add the port Name automatically) then Next. Select Next again for Generic Network Card. This will bring you back to the Driver Install Window.
Here you will click on Windows Update, this will download more print drivers for all manufacturers. Once the download is complete select Konica Minolta under Manufacturer then select Konica Minolta Pi7200e PCL5e, go Next and finish off the installing the Driver.
I have a PageWorks 20 at home and using it on Win 7 64bit and this driver works with all paper sizes up to 11 x 17, duplex and optional tray. The driver is for a copier so disable tray 4, hole punch etc.

2 multi color lines loud vibration noise

If you have changed the OPC drum and cleaned the entire insides of the printer after taking out the toner cartidges and OPC drum. You need a tech to look at it. The fuser is probably messed up from loose toner.

Printer makes extremely loud clicking noise

http://printer.konicaminolta.com/support/current_printers/mc2430dl_sup.htm#Printer_Specific_Documentation The user guide should be helpful to you to pinpoint what is causing the noise. Sounds like the belt drive or gears may be having a problem. Let me know what happens. Tim
