Question about Philips Televison & Video

1 Answer

I have a 51" Philips rear projection TV which has started to act up recently. Every time I turn it on (even with nothing connected) there are jagged lines all over the screen that bounce around (similar to interference or a bad over-the-air signal). This even happens when I'm just on the menu screen (as well as any other source I try to watch). I appreciate any help anyone can give me on this! Thanks in advance!

Please check your Power supply, check the convergence section, the main board, check capacitors , look for dry soldering in these sections

Sony 51'' projection Tv after one hour color chngs to Green

I've come into this problem before, it sounds like the lamp is dieing .. It could also be that a wire connected to the lamp is attached to the wrong post or isn't connected at all.
Depends on how long you've had that lamp installed and use time. If you've been using it for quite some time, 2.5/4 years and never replaced the lamp then it's most likely the lamp that needs to be changed, otherwise if you've had the lamp changed recently, i'd be leaning towards, a wire in the wrong place or not attached at all. Best of luck :)

Mute and C on the screen

The TV is in factory or demo mode - turn tv off and unplug it from wall outlet for 30 seconds - turn tv back on after 30 seconds and see if problem goes away. If not, press the (volume -) and (channel -) buttons repeatedly for about 10 seconds to see if "C" will go away. If this fails call 1-888-PHILIPS for further assistance (they do Magnavox also).

The screen probably needs to be degaussed, which will require either a degausser or a technician. Try turning the television off, and then unplugging it from the wall outlet. Then replug after 30 seconds and turn it back on. Also, try plugging any cables from a cable or satellite box into another set of in-ports on the back. If the problem persists, the screen needs to be degaussed.

No power to tv

You say didn't do anything, Like did you hear a squealing sound or did you see led lights on front of panel or just dead nothing? If dead and nothing then look for fuse blown in power supply if not then there maybe a small sound coming out of set when you press power if so then the power supply is trying to start up then you will have to look elsewhere like horizontal or convergence or vertical areas.
