I cant figure out the exponential form for 16

I am not sure what you mean. Even politicians use the term exponential so it has become blurry.
16=2^4 The power function is related to the exponential.
16=1.6*10^1 Scientific notation. Scientific notation is an exponential display format.
Take your pick.

Sorry to disappoint you but this calculator does not do windows. The operation you require is truly basic so as to be done by hand. It will be simpler for you if you tried to understand the scientific notation.

Casio fx-115ms OR ANY scientific calculator

Engineering notation ALWAYS puts the exponent as a multiple of three (kilo, mega, giga, etc). If you want the exponent as it is, use scientific notation. You can put the fx-115EX into scientific notation by pressing SHIFT MODE 7 and then entering the number of digits you want after the radix mark. Unfortunately there is no way to have the calculator adjust both the mantissa and exponent by anything other than three.

I want to remove the word fix from the top of the calculator

You've got the display set to fixed decimal notation. To change it, press SHIFT MODE 7 to switch to a scientific notation or SHIFT MODE 8 and then 1 or 2 to switch to one of the norm display modes.

norm1 switches to scientific notation if the magnitude of the number is less than 0.01 .
norm2 switches to scientific notation if the magnitude of the number is less than 0.000000001 .
