Question about PPI D2000/1 1-Channel Amplifier Car Audio Amplifier

Open Question

I need some help! My PPI amp keeps clipping @ higher volumes. Let me explain. System - alpine 9886 , clarion eq , PPI d2000/1 , optima 34 , stock alternator in my Lexus IS 200 - No capacitor. I had an RE SX 12 dual 2 1000rms before and the amp clipped @ high volume . The speaker coil eventually burnt. I changed to Cerwin Vega Vmax dual 2 500 rms and same thing with gain turned almost down to zero . Now I think that sometimes the voltage meter on dash actually shows less than 12 v when the amp clips. I dont know if it is a strict voltage problem or if the amp itself is malfunctioning. Please lend your wealth of experience and advise on what to do . I was thinking of trying a cap - but how much difference would that really make???? I also know that PPI amps need high voltages - or is it that these newer D series give problems I really dont know what the flock to do HELPPPPPPPP!

a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

SOURCE: I just got my PPI

Are you sure everything is correctly connected. If you are running the amplifier in bridge mode then take note that the load to the amplifier can be no lower than 4OHM. dreamsystems

Head unit connect

You will only be able to use this EQ on the front or the rear speakers. You will have to get another EQ if you think you need one. Usually, the front speakers of a car's audio system are the smallest and the rears are larger. You really do not want an EQ on the subs. If it was mine, I would hook the EQ between the head unit and the rear speakers. If you feel this does not sound right, you may need, but I doubt it very much, to get another EQ for the front speakers. Good Luck

Hi i trying to figure out how to wire up my rca's i have a pionner deck in on the back of it it has front output, rear output, sub output ,and also a audio output .now im trying to up it to a clarion eq that...

The "Front output" from the Pioneer deck would connect to the "Main In" on the Clarion EQ. I'm assuming that your Clarion EQ can only deal with one input, and will send the adjusted (equalized) signal out both of the outputs.
The "Front output" from the Clarion EQ should go to the "Front Input" on the 4 channel amp.
The "Rear output" from the Clarion EQ should go to the "Rear Input" on the 4 channel amp.
The "Sub output" from the Pioneer deck would connect to the Left/Right Input on the Epicenter. The Left/Right Output on the Epicenter would need a Y-splitter for each side, so that you could connect each amp separately. One suggestion would be to use one sub amp for both subs.

Hello maslynab,

The Alpine CDA-9886 is Bluetooth ready but requires an adapter such as Alpine's KCE-400BT or a generic adapter in order to pair with a phone.

Hope this helps.

I don't know which capacitor you have but it suppose to be 1 farad for every 1000 watts rms you have. You can also get you alternator checked or modified to a high amperage. This should work.
