Try installing it manually,,

1. unzip the drivers to a folder on your hard drive..
2. click start then right click computer ,, click properties , hardware / device manager,
3.) remove usb cable from printer
4.) right click any item and click scan for hard ware changes
5.) wait a bit for it to finish
6. plug in usb cable and repeat 4 and 5
7. the new device found wizard will appear ,, follow on screen instructions and select have driver or install from a specific location and choose the folder u unzipped the drivers too...

if that fails ,, ensure u downloaded the correct drivers..

Hp will print - does not scan. what am i doing

The Drivers are not correctly installed, have you installed the full feature software ? if not - uninstall the Printer software and reinstall it again, Connect the printer only when it is prompted to connect when you are installing the software

HP All-in-One Can't scan without printing

There is an OCR reader in the programs included with the install disk. This OCR will break down your entire document for editing. If you don't have the disk, it very simple to get all the software from the site.

Have a hp f380 all in one deskjet printer with M/S Vista OS

Hi,

Ofcourse, if there is any software or patch, there will be free on the HP website. However, as you have mentioned, that you are able to print, that shows that the printing software is working fine, to test the scanning part, please confirm that you are able to make a copy or not from the front panel of the printer by placing a text document on the scanner bed, close the scanner lid and then press color copy. If you are able to make a copy fine, that shows that the printer functionality is working fine.

The issue could be with the communication or with the scanning software. To check the communication between the printer and the computer, perform the following steps on the Windows XP computer or Vista computer, be sure that the printer should be connected directly to the computer via USB cable at the back side of the tower without any USB HUB, as you are using a Deksjet F380, it is a USB connectivity printer.

XP:
Follow the below steps to Scan using WIA (Windows Image acquisition)

1.Verify that the all-in-one product power is turned on and the printer cable is properly connected.
2.Click Start then Click All Programs then Click Accessories then Click Scanner and Camera Wizard.
3.Follow the Scanner and Camera Wizard instructions to scan images to the computer.

Vista:
1. Press Windows logo and R on the keyboard*.
It will open a small run dialog box at the bottom left corner of the screen.
2. In the Run box type WIAACMGR and press enter.
3. Follow the onscreen insturctions and complete the scanning.

If you are able to scan fine using the above steps, then it shows that there is a communnication between the printer and the computer.

Please get back to me with the exact error message you are receiving when you try to scan from the computer, as to scan from the printer you should be able to scan fine from the computer (i.e., From HP Solution Center/ HP Director). So that I can assist you in much better way.

With Regards.
Mike.

F380 not printing on mac reason: hp aio print2 pde plug-in

Normal 0 Driver could be corrupt.
Disconnect the printer or at least be sure it is turned off. I'd do both and reinstall the CD software program that came with the printer. When the software program asks you to connect the printer to the USB port, do so and it should again work properly.
Hope this helps. Bud

Deskjet f380

well u must first install the software came with it in a cd completely... then after installing the software u will have the "hp solution" on ur desktop... and u can double click that to print...
In order to move pics from memory stick u need a memory card reader ... else if the printer has one then.. probably once u insert ur stick u will find a new drive in ur "My Computer" and u can browse that drive for the pics..

Hp software for f380

The drivers and scan software can be downloaded from here or there are also links to order the CD from HP.

The full download is about 163Mb, if you have a slow connection you may want to order the CD. Typically the CD is free but there is a shipping charge of ~$10.
