I have suddenly lost access to my 2nd monitor and my main monitor will not adjust to the 16 or 32 bit -- It is currently @ 640 by 480 with 4-bit and will not adjust. HELP!! I am currently using my laptop, and have verified that everything is on my server and can access with no problem

I have already disconnected the 2nd Monitor (HP LE1711 LCD Monitor) and uninstalled all drivers -- then reinstalled only my main monitor driver (HP 2465 LCD Monitor) -- Yes Running XP.

    Have been through the display/driver/update thing about 20 times , , , ,

Also disconnected both monitors and reboot to see if the Plug and play would recognize it. What's strange is the hard boot shows the HP and Windows screen correctly, it is when the Windows login screen comes up that everything is distorted

OK, don't worry, here is what to do, start up your PC,and pump the, F & 8 Keys, F8, this will bring up Safe Mode, now choose Standard VGA from the screen OR simply proceed through to Safe Boot, or Safe Mode with networking (Recommended) In any event, the main screen will now only display standard VGA which is 800x600, if still at 640x480, the you simply will have to persevere with that resolution, to do the tasks below, it will be hard but not impossible, remember, TAB, steps it, Enter is Yes, and ESC is No/Cancel. Standard VGA, .this is so almost any monitor will work. What has happened is your driver has faulted, this needs to be reinstalled or replaced.
Now if you can boot up in standard VGA or Safe Mode, then it maybe best to go to your video card manufacturers website and download the latest drivers and install them. Or if you know where the existing files are stored navigate there and run the installer again.
You can do that, or go to Device manager, and find your VGA Card and Click on Update drivers, this then should initiate a search for said drivers, and it should find the correct drivers for your system and install them, you may need to reboot a couple of times to get it OK, now, you may have to enable & set up multiple desktop again too to get the 2nd monitor to work.

Assuming you are running windows XP, you go to Control panel and select display -- settings -- advanced. Turn the 2nd monitor off so that the main display can return to its regular setting.

It will help if you provide the Monitor make and model for both.

Hannspree 19" HF199H LCD - Display is LARGE on monitor!

Try Control Panel - Appearance or Display- You can change how your 2nd display looks there.. Sounds like you have it set in Clone mode...(both displays show the same things)...See if you can reset the 2nd display resolution while keeping the laptop in its normal resolution. Not all machines can do this...but most recent ones should be able to.

Problem with my LG monitor L194WT

You will have to increase the referesh rate first and then go into the game and reset the resolution. The resolution bit is secondary. If increasing the refresh rate works, then you dont have to change the resolution :)
