False paper jam reading.keeps say to clear paperjam. called HP and they said its a common problem,too expensive to fix,buya new one from us for 300 bucks

Hi,

Check the following Steps for fix HP printer carriage Jam :

  • Open the print carriage access door. Check for any packing material that may be blocking the internal components. Check for an orange shipping lock that may still be in place on the left side. Pull the shipping lock out, if present, and discard.
  • Remove and reinstall the cartridges to make sure they are properly installed. Lift the front center of the print carriage access door to open it. Lift the door up until it locks into an open position. Press down on a print cartridge and allow it to spring back up. Lift the cartridge out of the printer. Do the same for the other cartridge. Slide the black cartridge into the slot on the left and the color cartridge into the slot on the right. Press down on each one to lock it into place. Lower the print carriage access door.
  • Check the print cartridges to make sure the protective tape has been removed from the ink nozzles. Remove the cartridges from the printer. Remove any tape or labels. Replace the cartridges into the printer.
  • Push in on the tab on the left side of the clean-out door on the back of the printer to open the door. Lift the door out of the printer. Check for any paper jams. Jammed paper can block the printer cartridge carriage from moving. Pull any jammed papaer out.

My hp deskjet says there is a paper jam when there is none and will not print


If your printer for any reason reports a paper jam, withput going through the "clearing paper jam" procedure it may not respond to print command. So follow the procedure below:-

Clearing paper jam in a printer is simple almost seven step procedure depending on the printer. Paper jam is the term used to refer to the scenario where your paper fails to come out of the printer during the print process. I have a 1315. It has a paperjam error the light will not go off. the jam is cleared.


Sometimes clearing a paper jam is more about just pulling out the jammed paper. Here's the HP official solution for how to resolve a paper jam on that printer.

Says paper jam but NO paper is in the machine


One problem i found with those printers is that over time the casting around the paper tray is wearing off and printers starts to show paperjams when there is no paperjam.
One way to fix is try and positions the paper tray better or perhaps raising it a bit with piece of wood or paper.
Cast unfortenately is too expensive to replace so if this doesnt work and you are sure there is no paperjam and nothing obstructing the sensor then replace the printer.

I keep wondering did a piece of the jammed sheet not clear the paper path? Was the quality of the paper you were using the reason it jammed and now is causing you quality issues? Did you use superior quality toner cartridges for your replacement or were they relatively low cost replacements? Not being able to see what's actually happens is frustrating. Recurring false paperjam alert


Hi,
Remove the jammed paper. Unplug the printer from the mains and PC. Inspect the rollers, etc for tiny paper piece(s) that may be stuck, or other debris. Try to clean rollers and make sure they are dry.
Keep printer unplugged for about 2 minutes and replug and try a test print.
Also make sure that you have waited long enough for the printer to heat up before giving a print job.
Finally, it could be an issue with the paper sensor. If this is the case, you will probably have to take the printer in for servicing..

Paperjams


Sounds like the pick up rollers are worn or dirty.
You can try to clean them with alcohol.
When you pull the tray out the rollers
should be towards the front of the printer.
