Same here. Even without drive cabled in to computer (parallel port) amber light is on solid and unable to eject disk manually. If it helps in any way, drive is no longer recognized by the computer.

How do you get a disk to pop out of a iomega zip 100

Hello.

If your iomega drive is connected to your computer, open My Computer and right-click on the Zip disk drive icon and choose the option to eject.

If unsuccessful, or the drive is not connected to your computer, remove the disk manually. Look for a small hole or lever. If a small hole, use a straightened paper clip and push into the hole to remove the disk. If a lever, lift and pull backwards.

Hope this helps.

I have a Zip 250 disk that will not read. When I insert the disk in the external disk drive, it will spin and stop a few times and that's it. When I try to access the disk/drive letter via "My Computer",...

If the disk is unreadable this means that the format or the files extensions on it are not readable in the operation system you use..either are damaged or the disk itself is damaged or it wasn't finalized like it should ...If other disks inserted run ok than the disk it is damaged and it is nothing wrong with the drive itself..When it says to insert a disk this means that it is not seeing the disk at all and it sounds like a drive problem ..but if other disks are ok ..than it is just a damaged disk or in a format unreadable ..beware if it a cd unit ..will not read dvd-es..or if it a dvd kind will not read large dvd-es (dual layer) or blue-ray disks..

How to eject a floppy disk from the external drive? It is stuck in the drive and can't remember how to get it out.

Sometimes the disk stops when ejecting, and remains in a slightly lifted position, making it impossible to eject it no matter what. It has to come back to it's resting place inside the drive and then you can try ejecting it again.
Try to push it back in with something that will not destroy the disk and the drive, like a piece of cardboard, or your finger, if you can reach inside. When it clicks back into place, try ejecting it again. Repeat a couple of times if necessary, it should unlatch eventually.

Maybe the disk is good and the board is dead...
Pull the disk out from the case, and connect it directly to the PC, via IDE or Sata cable, whatever the disk is...

At format check correct ammount of data "capacity" is 8GB (7.9) also file system for NTFS or FAT32. FAT cant bear 8GB.
