Microwave does not heat things up

This is usually from a part that fails. It is either the capacitor or the diode that controls the microwave generator. I would have it repaired because it is high voltage, you have to be able to test the parts. You need to be able to reassemble the unit

Microwave is not make food hot

Hi.

The wave emitting part inside the microwave oven is called the magnetron. The waves emitted by the magnetron generate heat in food. When the microwave is running, turntable turns and light comes on but there is no heat it means that either the magnetron is faulty or the magnetron is not getting power. When the magnetron is not getting power parts such as the high voltage diode or capacitor must be tested or replaced. Testing and repair must be carried by a technician. We have a Emerson Microwave Oven model # MW8115SS and it has power, but does not heat up. Key pad and light inside work. Where do I find the fuses to check and possibly replace?

You have to remove the 4 side screws and the 4 rear screws of the chassis cover then slide the cover to the rear about 3/4" life the rear of the cover about 30 degrees and remove the cover. Follow the power lead to the first connection and you will see a fuse holder. This is normally a 20 Amp slo-blo fuse. The fuse fails either from a bad power diode that is near the HV capacitor or a bad HV capacitor most of the time. MAKE SURE YOU DISCHARGE THE CAPACITOR BEFORE reaching inside the cabinet. Take a screwdriver and ground across the terminals at least 3 times.

You read the diode with a meter using R X 10,000 it will read zero ohms with the leads in one direction and infinity when the leads are reversed. You must disconnet at least one terminal from the diode to read it properly.

You test the HV capacitor using the same meter setting and reversing the leads. Eavh time you reverse the leads your watching for a momentary jump in capacitance and then the meter moves to infinity. If it reads continuity or no jump then the HV capacitor is bad.

This microwave has been around for quite some time.... so long that there are few manuals out there for it. If you find a failed part.. walk into your nearest appliance parts source with the failed part in hand. Use of GENERIC parts is fine.

Kelly

My microwave over works but no heat

Sorry to read about your problem, I hope this helps you out.
you could have one of the following issues
  1. Blown fuse in HV transformer primary circuit or HV fuse (if used).
  2. Bad connections (particularly to magnetron filament).
  3. Open thermal protector or thermal fuse.
  4. Open HV capacitor, HV diode, HV transformer, or magnetron filament.
  5. Shorted HV diode, HV capacitor (will blow a fuse), or magnetron.
  6. Damaged protective VDR from filament to chassis (not commonly used).
  7. Defective HV relay (not commonly used).
Microwaves must be serviced by technicians due to the inherent dangers involved in repairing these appliances. Internal capacitors can retain a lethal electrical charge even though the unit is completely unplugged. A microwave radiation leakage test must be performed on the unit following any internal component repair.

GE double oven wall, JKP85B0A3BB

I would start by checking all of the door switches. Once you remove the shell, you will see them all on a rail where the door latch goes. Some will be normally open, some normally closed. If they all check out, check all of your overloads and thermal fuses. They should all read closed. If they all check out as well, replace your magnatron, capacitor, and diodes.

Sounds like the door monitor switch, which would take out the internal ceramic fuse. I'd replace those two plus the primary and secondary door safety interlock switches.

Microwave will turn on but not heat

Test the high voltage capacitor, the rectifier diode.or the magnetron.

If it additionally does not spin and no light, then check also the door switch.

The diode and capacitors can br tested. The capacitor must be allowed discharge before testing, or you risk to get electrocuted, even if power is off. Capacitors can get discharged by shorting their two contacts.
Replace the magnetron if the checks and all of the high voltage component tests are good, but the unit still does not heat.

All locations, and description of this parts can be located using the diagram here: Counter top.

Parts must be tested to find out what is wrong.

Remember that microwaves are potentially dangerous devices if not repaired properly, the job must be done by a competent person.
A microwave energy leakage test must always be performed when the oven is serviced for any reason.

Regarding parts, contact the seller here to purchase parts. (here in UK).
