Dryer wont run

I am going to try this one with very little information. First I would check the circuit breakers and make sure the cicruitg breaker did not trip. then I would turn the timer to different settings like and example delicates, normal cycle. if none of those did not work, I would look at the door interlock switch. on the door there is usually a little tab protuding out and it goes into a slot and pushes a switch. these is so the dryer will not run unless the door is closed.
so more than likely it is power loss problem
door interlock
timer/ start button
hope this helps

Dryer not heating and timer does not move from set time

Try resetting your breaker. Turn it FULLY off, push to the off position firmly or you may not be able to reset one breaker, that may have tripped.

The dryer just stopped working> It's about 4 years old. Working one minute and not the next. no clicking sound when you turn the timer dial. Could it be bad dial?

Not usually a dial problem. First make sure your breaker is not tripped. If the dryer was working fine and suddenly nothing works its usually a power problem. The other problem to check is the door switch. If its not the breaker/fuse panel let me know.

My house has a T1033A which controls the bathroom fans. There is no display and even when I turn the unit to the off position, I cannot switch the fans on. Is the unit shot? I can't determint which breaker...

Open following link to identify timer and download manual:

The reset button is small round button and can be pushed with toothpick or paper clip.
If reset doesn't restore timer, then timer is probably shot.
Also check all breakers to make sure one isn't tripped.
To test which breaker controls timer, open up box so you can test wires, and then use electrical tester and process of elimination to identify correct timer.
Add a comment and say if this is new installation or if timer suddenly stopped functioning.

Also take advantage of fixya expert assistance live.
For a price, expert works with you while you work on timer or any do-it-yourself project.
Fixya is always less expensive than a service call.

3 years old, totally dead dryer

remove the back panel look on the side of the heating element look for a small red button on the thermal fuse push it in.
Also look on the left side by the belt and motor you should see a black piece of plastic with small springs on it push it to the right to reset it if this has tripped, this is a saftey kill switch that gets activated by the drum belt if there if a sudden problem with the belt tension

No heat

You may need a new heating unit for your dryer, but usually and most always it's the temperature sensor that needs reset, most of them have a push button built into the sensor that you can push to reset it.

This most always works, failing that you need a new element to heat. though sometimes wires rattle loose and simply need plugged back into socket.

In all examples you need to take the panels off your unit to get the parts in question.

Hope this helps.

Dryer won't turn on. the breaker is on

Do you have a multimeter? I would suggest unplugging the unit and checking to see if there is power at the plug. If there isn't any power then I would say the breaker is defective. If you do have power, then take the back of your control panel off and check if you have power to the timer control. To double check the timer, turn to a dryer setting and see if there is power at the motor. If the meter shows power there then the motor is not working but the timer works.

Has a household fuse blown or has a circuit breaker tripped?
There may be 2 household fuses or circuit breakers for the dryer. Make sure both fuses are intact and tight, or that both circuit breakers have not tripped. Replace the fuse(s) or reset the circuit breaker(s). If the problem continues, call an electrician.
Is the correct power supply available? (Electric dryers only)
Electric dryers require 240-volt power supply. Check with a qualified electrician.
Is the dryer door firmly closed?
Your dryer door may not be fully closed. It may look shut, but may not be latched. Push on the door to engage the latch or latches. Some models have an upper and lower latch. Both latches must be secure for the dryer to run.
Was the Start, Push to Start or Hold to Start button firmly pressed?
Large loads may require the Start, Push to Start, or Hold to Start button to be pressed and held for two to five seconds.
Is the Cycle Control knob set on a Sensor Dry or Timed Dry cycle? (on some models)
The Cycle Control knob must be set in a Automatic Dry or AccudryTM or Timed Dry cycle. The dryer will not start if set on the Wrinkle ShieldTM option.
Is Controls Locked status light on? (on some models)
Press and hold the Cycle Signal button for three seconds. This will turn off the Controls Locked feature.
Did you recently install a power supply cord on the dryer? (Electric dryers only)
The power supply cord may be incorrectly installed. If the power cord is incorrectly installed, the dryer may not start or heat. Review the Installation Instructions to check that the power supply cord is properly installed.

Dryer not turning on

Mine stops if it overheats and you have to let it cool down and then press a reset button on the back. It could also be fuse or it may have tripped the breaker.
