SOURCE: No blue flames

Sounds like the burners have worn out. Replace them.

SOURCE: flame low on grill however the flame is high on burner

Sounds like your regulator has a restriction. One thing you could try would be to tap on the regulator while you have the grill lit and see if you could knock loose the particulate that is creating problems if not your other option would be to replace the regulator.

SOURCE: Low flame

Solution #1 is correct. If your regulator is / was good, then you would most likely have a leak in a line or fitting - and the regulator has properly restricted or stopped gas flow as it's designed to do for obvious safety.

However a very common leak is the main plastic tank coupling which renders the whole regulator and hose assembly useless.

Quick fix, go to Wal-Mart and buy a $20 replacement regulator which comes pre-fitted with hoses and couplings. Get the dual or single hose depending on whether you have a side-burner or not.

Voila! Your good to go a few more years.

SOURCE: My grill does not exceed 300 degrees

Bypass valve need reset. All grills made after 1996 have this valve.

  • Close the LP tank valve
  • Turn all burner control knobs to the OFF position
  • Open the grill lid
  • Turn the LP tank valve until it is completely open
  • Wait 90 seconds
  • Turn the front burner to the HI/Start position
  • Press the igniter until the burner is lit.
  • Turn remaining burners to High
  • Close the lid.
  • The grill should preheat to 500-550 degrees in 10-15 minutes
I called Weber and a rep walk me through it.

SOURCE: cannot get good flame on the burner of my baby weber grill. I've tried cleaning it checked hose, tank, regulator, seems to have good flow, but low flame only, even when set in high????????

I had this problem with a brand new grill so it wasn't grease in the hose. Due to the new propane regulators you have to turn the propane tank on for at least a minute before turning the grill to light. Let the tank sit in the light position for five seconds and then you light the grill. This will keep air from getting into the intake hose and will keep your gas flame roaring high.

I was only able to get the grill up to 250 degrees before I found this fix posted on the Weber site. It is listed as the number one solution in the FAQ section.

Left burner produces a normal blue flame, but the right burner produces a big yellow flame - how can I fix this?

Hi inomura...
Look at the left burner, pipe, air hole adjustment, etc because it is operating good.
You will see a difference to it compared to the on the right.
The right pipe, air hole, or the length the pipe that are iserted in the gas control valve is different from the left.
The yellow flame indicates that not enough air is getting to the flame getting to the right flame ignition point.
The left flame is nice and blue...normal, the right is yellow indicating that not enough air is getting to the flame ignition point...look to see if the air hole adjustment is different than the one on the left...there is something open more or less, improperly adjusted.
Once you have it adjusted properly the right flame will burn bright blue just as it does on the left.

I have a brinkmann 4 burner. The cross over at the back of the burners has it's own flame. The back of the grill, even at the lowest setting is still very hot. Flames come up between the plates. On...

Sounds like a gas regulator problem. But, somewhat unusual, as most people complain of low flames. In any event, you will need to replace the Hose/Regulator Assembly. They run about $30.00 and can be found at any hardware store or home center, that sell gas grills and accessories.

As a safety measure, after turning off the gas tank, check each burner for blowout or rust through..

I hope this helped you and thanks for choosing FixYa.

Second third and fourth burner will not light?

Susan, there are several reasons that can cause the problem you described. The first being that theburners that won't light need to be removed and thoroughly cleaned. The cleaning also requires cleaning the Venturi Valve on each burner. The Venturi Valve will look like 2 slots cut into the side of each burner tube near the burner's open end, that fits over the burner orifice. Spiders like to build nest in the Venturi Valves. Be sure to turn the gas tank valve OFF and disconnect the hose from the tank, before attempting any work on the grill. After you have finished cleaning everything, reconnect the hose to the tank and open the tank valve VERY, VERY SLOWLY (Slow motion, slow), until it is fully open.
Then light the burner farthest from the tank first and turn it to HIGH. If the flame height kooks correct, light the remaining burners the same way. If all the burners lit and the flame heights look correct, you solved the problem (with a little help).

Hope this helped you. Please let me know and Happy Grilling!!

I just purchased a brand new tank of propane and i still have the same problem that the propane burns out of all 4 burners but at a really low flame even on high. I can not get the grill to heat up...

Turn the tank off. Disconnect the grill hose from the tank. Wait 5 minutes and reconnect the hose to the tank. Turn the LP tank valve on VERY, VERY SLOWLY until it's fully open. Now, light each burner one at a time and turn it up to the highest setting. If that didn't solve the problem, repeat the previously listed steps.

If after the second attempt the burners still only maintain a low flame, you will need to replace the grill hose/regulator.

Hope this solved your problem and Happy Grilling!

The flame coming out of the burner bars is small

May likely be low on propane or propane tank gate valve not opened far enough. Otherwise sounds like faulty regulator.

The entire 4 gas burners do not get hot

Now, the most common problem on all recent gas grills is that the regulator in the gas hose now has a safety feature which prevents it from leaking. Sometimes this feature gets stuck.

Unscrew your propane tank from the regulator, tap the regulator a couple of times and reattach it. This may solve your problem. If not, use the link above.
