Hi guys, theres no spark from distributor to spark plug,on nissan z20s, when i turn key on it sparked on contact point but when cranking no spark, please help,

Try going back to basics. Examine the contacts to make sure they are clean and smooth. Look at the rotor arm carefully for dirt and damage to both the metal and plastic parts. Now do the same to the distributor cap.
Using a new spark plug remove ONE plug lead and insert the new plug. Using a pair of insulated pliers hold the plug against the engine block. Get a helper to crank the engine and look for a clean blue spark. Pull out the plug, Refit that lead and repeat for each lead in turn. This will tell you if it's a faulty plug lead. Next check each spark plug in turn. Look for black build up or damage.
The only other thing you can check is the coil. If your familiar with a multimeter you can test it yourself. If your not sure, get a good mechanic to check it for you.
most of these parts are usually cheap to buy and easy to fit.

Huskee LT4200. Turns over. Why won't it start?

Any combustion engine needs 3 things to run...Spark, Fuel, and compression. You need to figure out what you are missing. Easiest thing to check is spark. Pull the spark plug and hold the metal base against metal engine casing, and making sure you are holding onto the insulating rubber of the boot, have someone help crank the engine over while you hold the plug there. Look for a good strong blue to white spark at the plug gap. If you have no spark or weak yellow to orange spark you will need to look into the ignition system. New plug is the cheapest and easiest thing to change and test again. If it is still a weak spark then you will need to look to the coil/ ht lead, igniter box, or pick-up. While the plug is out, you can check for compression in the cylinder. If you end up having good spark and good compression then you look to the fuel system. If you can't find a problem with your fuel system, your fuel, spark, and compression also have to happen at the correct you check your timing marks. Simple steps of engine trouble shooting.

No rpm smell gas

If you small gas on the spark plug, it's running rich. I would think your issue will be in your ignition. I would check the gap on the spark plug then check to see if it's getting a good spark. Then check your spark plug wires for cracks or corrosion on the terminals, and you can also use a DMM to check the resistance across the plug wire. Resistance should not exceed 0.3 oms. If that looks good then check your coil.

Bike not starting and when i try to start it engine floods could it be the gearbox

There are basically 3 things needed for an engine to run. 1) good fuel, 2) good compression and 3) a strong spark.
If you don't have all three, your bike won't start. When you kick it over, do you get spark? You will need to pull a spark plug and check it...if it looks fouled, either use a fine sandpaper to clean it (for testing) or replace it (recommended). If you aren't getting spark and the plug looks okay, you have to look farther "up the chain" to find the problem...possible bad cable to spark plug? Work your way back. It could also be a bad ground...just some things to look at.

Wavy lines start

First its a good idea to replace plug. Remove plug look in cylinder an if its wet looking it could be not spark. Hold plug against engine with pliers an have someone pull cord an watch for spark. If you do problem is no fuel.

My 5700 watt 11 HP McCullough generator wont start. I'm getting good gas to the plug but no spark.

The spark coil is bad if you have no spark

Small engine repair. Part is expensive.

Have you checked spark for sure?
1) Spray WD-40 directly into carburetor
If machine has spark, it will fire
2) Is exhaust port clogged with carbon and dirt?
3) Get new spark plug
Pull out old spark plug
Put spark wire on plug
Hold spark plug wire with fingers
Put spark plug threads against metal opening where spark plug came out.
Metal to metal
Pull cord or push starter
Look for spark between metal

No spark, then spark coil is bad.

Where are the spark plugs located on a mitsubishi outlander 2004?

spark plugs are under valve cover. Each plug has its own coil pack module. Plug is under this. Be ware, factory plugs may have to be ordered ( $ 15 - 20 ea.) , depending on parts stores in your area. here in Canada, some stores had wrong computer listings for all brands of plugs for this car!! The factory plugs are NKG Iridium, and are longer than conventional plugs!! I'm about to change mine ( 160000 KM's).Looked at plugs cpl mths ago, didnt look too bad. Hope to get another 160 K's from new ones ! Good luck .!

Husqvarna chainsaw stops when using it

Check for spark after it quits. If none, the ignition module may be dying when hot. If ok, check the muffler for plugging. Use compressed air to remove sawdust from cylinder and head area. If everything looks good, note whether the spark plug is getting wet with fuel after trying to restart the saw. If dry, check the fuel lines for cracking or other deterioration. Make sure the fuel tank vent is clear of debris. (Loosen the fuel cap for a moment, then see if it will start.) Hopefully, one of these suggestions will hit on the problem!

Car wont start, sounds like out of gas but tank is full

A car not starting can be caused by many, many things.........but...................a bad thermostat or a good thermostat will not cause or keep a car from starting in any way. you need to know if it is getting gas to the cylinders........and to check for spark at the cylinders.......pull a spark plug wire at the spark plug, pull the spark plug and see if it looks wet or smells like strong gas odor....then plug wire onto spark plug, (without re-installing spark plug), and hold spark plug onto a grounded metal object on engine (using a rubber insulated object, so you don't get shocked), then have someone turn engine over and look to see if spark plug sparks........if yes, re-install spark plug, etc.......your ignintion is sparking, but if you are getting fuel, it may be a jumped timing chain? You may need mechanical help........don't trust the person that told you about a thermostat........
