Question about Samsung RF265AA Bottom Freezer French Door Refrigerator

1 Answer

Ice maker does not fill with water. Pressure is ok , line is clear, Lowes tech said it might be corroded in the ice maker and to take it out to check the solenoid and water inlet for blockage. How do I remove it? I am very handy and good at fixing stuff but I'm not sure how to get it out.

Try swapping the wires on the dual water inlet valve. It’s on the back where the water supply comes in. Then try the water dispenser. The water should go to the ice maker. This will tell you weather or not the ice maker valve is working and if the line is clear.

The water inlet valve on the back of unit opens when the ice maker needs water. If the valve doesn't seal good because of sediment or wear it will continue to drip and when the water reaches the ice maker supply tube it will freeze blocking the fill tube.. You can take the water line off the valve and watch to see if it drips.
The ice maker hangs on the wall with three screws. two at the top and one at the bottom. Just loosen these screws and the ice maker will lift off the bracket and you can then reach the wiring harness to unplug it.

Pull the water supply line a loose from the water inlet valve. Look in the end of the valve there is a screen in there that can stop up. If it is clear then there is no way to extend the water time it is built in to the ice maker head. It will need to be replaced.

I have model 56532400 side by side. The water line to frig shakes violantly every few minutes slamming the back of frig resulting in loud noise. Ice maker not working. Red indicator light is on ice...

Air in the line is usually the cause of knocking pipes in a house. You might try opening the line and letting it run to clear all air out.

Is the freezer cold enough? Should be close to 10 degrees.
Is there water or ice in the ice mold? If not put water in it and see if it dumps the ice after it's frozen. If there is ice, lift the cut off arm and let it drop to see if it will start.
If it does dump the ice but don't refill with water.

A strainer before the inlet valve can also get stopped up restricting flow.

My icemaker went on the blink, found water all over kitchen floor now it will not make ice but the freezer functions great. Model number ED2FHAXB04

Sometimes the water inlet are of an ice maker for no reason will freeze up preventing water from reaching the tray and making a mess. What will happen is the ice maker fill tube on the back of the cabinet also freezes up. As a result the icemaker tries to cycle pressure then builds up in the plastic feed line to the fill tube. This pressure build up in a very "low pressure" plastic line causes that plastic line to push itself out of the press to fit connections (fittings) at the back of the unit or under the unit. Hence the next cycle it just ports water to the now open line causing water to go to the floor instead of the icemaker.

You can locate the source of the leak by simply following the plastic fill tube and re-insert it into the fitting. You still need to find the ice build up that caused the initial leak and melt that ice buildup with a hair dryer or a fan until it is clear. Once you clear the ice blockage (near the rear of the icemaker) it should work normally again.

Ice maker quit working on GE refrigerator

Sometimes on a ice maker what will happen is the water line that fills the ice maker will freeze. You can use a large syringe filled with hot water and from the rear of the frig remove the water line where the hose goes into the rear of the frig and force some hot water into the tube to see if it is clear.
If the line is clear fill the ice maker manually and see if it goes through a cycle.
If it goes through a cycle you have to check to see if the ice maker is calling for water by putting a multi meter across the contacts of the water inlet valve located behind the panel on the back of the frig. Advance the ice maker to run through a cycle and see if it is calling for water. If you have current going to the valve and no water momming in, replace the valve.
If you do not have current going to the valve after the ice maker has gone through a cycle. Replace the ice maker.

Not making any ice.

Hello there:
here is a couple of things to check ok
The water inlet valve on the back of the unit where the water supply comes in can have a slow leak and will cause ice to buildup and block the fill tube. Disconnect the ice maker line from the valve and watch to see if it has a slow drip. It doesn’t take much to eventually block the fill tube.
The valve can leak because of sediment in the water preventing it from closing or low water pressure.

Try swapping the wires on the dual water inlet valve. Then try the water dispenser. The water should go to the ice maker. This will tell you weather or not the ice maker valve is working and if the line is clear.

Water leak from ice maker

The fill line internal to the freezer is likely frozen up from the elbow inward.. When the icemaker calls for fill...pressure builds up on the plastic tubing causing it to pop out of the elbow. Check the tube inside the freezer by removing icemaker and running a long thin screwdriver or a rigid wire up into the tube until you feel ice or the plastic elbow outside.

Clear ice, if present, by squeezing hot water in from freezer side with turkey baster until cleared and water comes out back.

I pulled out the ice tray on our MSD2351HEB and now it won't make ice. I've moved the lever up and down, verified that the tray is ALL the way in to no avail.

Whirlpool ice maker

Sometimes the fill tube to the ice maker can freeze up. Remove the screws holding the ice maker, see if it will lower out of the way. Now the fill tube is visible, check to see if it's clear. If you have to unplug the power cord, there is a tab that has to be pushed down. If you find the fill tube is clogged, clearing it may just solve your problem.
