Where do i find the pico fuses on the tv and how do i know if it is a bad convergence IC. I'm a novice at this stuff.

So you think if I buy the convergence repair kit it should solve my problem. Now when I try to turn the tv on the light on the switch stays lit for about 1-2 seconds and goes off. When I did push the menu and input buttons and hold it did flash 22 pause 22 pause etc. Thanks for your help.

One last question and I won't bother you any more. Will I have to remove the circuit board from the TV to unsolder and remove the various fuses/capacitors from the board and solder in the new ones or can this be done with the board still in the TV. To me it looks like the board will need to be removed to replace the various items. Is this very difficult to do and is it likely to cause other problems? Thanks much for your help. My wife is currently physically disabled and I'm trying to get the TV fixed for her with minimal cost if possible.

Hi

Thanks for using FixYa. Error code 2-2 means short protect which is either caused by bad convergence ICs and/or 2 Pico fuses (F9A05 and F9A04). You’ll need to open the back of the unit and replace the parts that have gone bad to resolve this issue. Please do accept the solution if the issue is resolved or post a comment for further assistance.

Thanks

Thanks for your reply, you can buy repair kits from this link and fix the issue yourself, if you know how to solder components.

From what you have described it is the convergence ICs that are bad, and the pico fuses are located on the center board.

I understand, it fine you can ask whatever you want regarding your TV. The kit comes with instructions and there is no need to remove any board. Check this picture:

Also check this video on how to replace the convergence ICs. Please do accept the solution if the issue is resolved or post a comment for further assistance.

    Thanks

This is not for your TV however, just an example on how to replace them.

I have a mitsubishi ws-65315. When I go to turn the tv on the green power light comes on and you can hear the tv click on, but seconds later shuts off.

this model has a self check, when green light comes on and then goes off. Push and hold both the Menu and Input buttons on the front of the set for at least 5 seconds and release both.

Power light will blink a two digit error code like 2 blinks 2 blinks, a pause and then repeat it several times.

Let me know what error code you find and I will tell you what it means.

Mitsubishi Model WS 55511 was made in March of 2003. I turn it on and it goes right back off again. On the front of this TV I only have an Enter button, a menu button. an A/V Reset Button and a Device...

Device is the same as input--try the self check, when power light goes off press and hold it and menu at same time for five seconds and release.

Device means input.

Let me know error code and I will help you more than anyone else.

Mitsubishi WS-55857 turn on/auto turn off problem

After it shuts off, you need to get a code from the tv by pressing the menu and device buttons together for 5 sec. A code will flash at you made up of 2 digits. Example. 2 flashes a pause and 2 flashes points to a convergence failure. If this is not your code post yours and I will help you.

code 12 indicates no fault. tv probably needs the high voltage board rebuilt, have a shop do it. Maybe you need to check all the connections.

Stays on for 2 seconds and switches off

A 2-2 code on that unit means over current shutdown. 95% of the time that code indicates defective convergence output IC's.

65 in Mitsubishi rear projection tv won't power on.

Go to the set and when turning it on doesn't work push and hold down the MENU and INPUT buttons at the same time until the LED starts blinking. It should be a two blink sequence like 1 blink pause 2 blinks long pause and then repeats. Repost the blink sequence and that will narrow down what the microprocessor thinks is the problem area.
