Question about Frigidaire FEF336BC Electric Kitchen Range

CIRCUIT BOARD It appears that the circuit board to my stove has exploded. It started to sizzle then blew up! All we did was turn the stove on. No history of previous problems. Is it cheaper to replace the board or get a new stove. Thanks!

Superba. Why won't stove and left front burner turn off completely?

Hello. You didn't provide the model number for your unit so my help is limited. From what you're describing, it sounds like the infinite switch(fancy name for burner control) has begun to fail(in a short-circuit type of manner). Be advised though, depending on the model of unit you have(such as the glass touch-panel type), the problem could be a damaged circuit board, either the main board or the user interface board. Also, if so equipped, there can be a relay board that EVERYTHING passes through which can have partial failures and produce the symptom you have. This relay board is typically mounted on the rear wall of the oven, under the rear cover. Did you have a power outage recently(such as 3-4 weeks prior to this happening)? Outages are notorious for damaging electronic controls--usually after that time period, the damaged chips start to fail, causing all sorts of problems. If I have the model number, I can provide part numbers and possibly, exploded diagrams.

I own FRIGIDAIRE ES100/105 (electric stove and oven). Yesterday I was using the oven and suddenly I heard a loud sound. I went to check it I found out the both the oven and stove were off. And not working....

HI. The actual issue will be with the main logic board, which is where the main element control relays are mounted. These very important relays are damaged. The main board will need to be replaced, asap.

With that said, if you could be so kind; Please post the entire model number so that i may pull up all necessary part numbers needed, as well as, service manual links and diagrams to help with your repair.

Cannot get new stove started. clock on when burner is turn on, then there is F9 follow by a beep.

F9 - Door lock safety circuit on power relay board sensed.

To solve it, just check the latch or replace power relay board

Whirlpool ee3z50rd055v stopped working after our power had been out for 5 days.

Have you checked your panel for a breaker that has the 2 switches tied with a black piece of plastic (I will attach a picture below...), if it is off, or in the middle (tripped position) turn it firmly to the off position, then back on. If your panel is labeled, look for the label that either says "Range" or "Stove"even if it is already on, turn it off and back on, If you hear any form of sizzling, or smell any odd/burning smells coming from the panel, turn that breaker back off right away, and call an Electrician, that is not something that you will be fixing yourself, it is way too dangerous., but after you check the breaker and it stays on with no issues, and the stove still doesent work, check that it is plugged in correctly, and not burned or loose. If that it is still not working, then I suggest that it is time to call a Licensed Electrician....

Model JGBP28DED1WH Stove heats up then temp. drops off ,have to shut off and restart stove.I have replaced ingither in stove, control circuit board, whats left to replace.???

This problem is most commonly caused by a weak ingitor, but as you stated that you have already replaced that, the next most likely cause would be the oven temp sensor, part # WB21X5301 . The control circuit board is very rarely the cause of such a problem.

My oven and stove top in inoperative. the clock,

If everything checks out fine, and you have no wires grounding out, then the issue is the control or circuit board( same thing).

Blank Display on Electronic Oven Control

If the burners are working it is not the circuit breaker as both use the same circuit. The board does use the ground or neutral wire. I would check that and see if there is 12VAC supplied to the board. If there is then it would appear you have a fried board.

stoveboy,

I know you probably have the problem fixed by now, but I had the same problem with my frigidaire range just the other day. Loud popping sound, range/clock controls do not work. Stovetop still works great.

I took the back off the stove and got to the circuit board. Unplug the connector and the five spade connector wires. Once you do that, remove the 4 screws holding the entire assembly in place. The circuit board(s) are held in the housing with retaining clips on the housing. Use a small screwdriver or similar to pull back on each clip to pry each side of the board out. Once the board(s) are free, look in between the two circuit boards and you will see the problem. The larger, 20 amp relay is the culprit. It blew traces off of both boards making it almost impossible to repair. Without having a schematic to go by, I went ahead and decided to just replace w/ new boards as opposed to trying to solder the traces. I have not checked on prices, but brief web searches didn't return any results. The board part # is SF5301-S7509-N

Heat and moisture (steam) kills the electronics in any control. but if the mark are on a circuit then there was a short in a circuit. I would check the series if your stove( first two numbers in the serial number)if it is a early series. for sure that they have make improvements in the control. And a Replacement controls will have all the improvement and revisions. good luck and let me know what you do..kraztech
