Question about HP Office Equipment & Supplies

I have an HP officejet 4200 series, all-in-one. I have an error reading of "remove and check right cartridge". I have tried this and even loading a new cartridge. I have tried turning off and unplugging. Please help.

Here is a list of steps you can take to clear this "Remove and check cartridge" error on HP printers. They generally involve cleaning the contacts between the cartridge and the carriage in the printer.

Some people think this error is related to hard-coded expiration dates that are encoded on the cartridges themselves. HP will not confirm or deny this (I personally find it unlikely, but you never know...) In this case, performing a partial reset of the printer may clear the error.

Hp officejet j6480 cartridge error problems


This type of fatal cartridge error (i.e. "refer to documentation" / "incompatible cartridges", etc.) typically indicates the internal micro-electronics of the HP #74/75 cartridge are damaged. The cartridge's electrical wire runs at rear and lower side of the ink cartridge, are very delicate and are somewhat susceptible to ink attack over time, which can lead to premature failures. However, our test group has also seen these failures with brand new cartridges. In addition, the older the cartridge the higher the chance of an internal electrical failure. I suggest you first run a 'Tap 41' diagnostic test to check cartridges electrical health (this is a forced test); you may also bypass the error (temporarily) on most models which use HP 74/75 cartridges. Cartridge error HP officejet 4200 series


In most cases the printer driver software can have errors while being in use or is shut down. So to reset remove your printer from the PC and uninstall the printer software. Now reinstall the printer software and then connect the Printer to be detected as a new hardware as it will be installed. Now check the printer properties to see the ink levels.
Activate head cleaning before a test is taken . Sometimes it is possible that the head is not reacting to the need of the PC command or can be an issue with ink drying or poor ink cartridge contacts.Remove and clean the contacts to reset.

Check that the HP all-in-one print queue is not paused (Windows) or stopped (Macintosh). If it is, choose the appropriate setting to resume printing. For more information about accessing the print queue, see the documentation that came with the operating system installed on your computer.
Check the USB cable. If you are using an older cable, it might not be working properly. Try connecting it to another product to see if the USB cable works. If you experience problems, the USB cable might need to be replaced. Also verify that the cable does not exceed 3 meters (9.8 feet) in length.

I changed the printer cartridges in a hp officejet 4315 and now it won't print-flashing error meesage "Cartridge Error:refer to device documentation to trouble shoot" What do I do? i

print cartridge troubleshooting for hp officejet 4315 :

1. Remove the black print cartridge from the slot on the right. Do not touch the ink nozzles or the copper-colored contacts. check for possible damage to the copper-colored contacts or ink nozzles.
2. Reinsert the print cartridge by sliding it forward into the slot. Then push the print cartridge forward until it clicks into the socket.
3. Repeat steps 1 and 2 for the tri-color print cartridge on the left side.
4. If the problem persists, print a self-test report to determine if there is a problem with the print cartridges.
5. If the self test report shows a problem, clean the print cartridges.
6. If the problem persists, clean the copper-colored contacts of the print cartridges.
7. If you are still experiencing problems with printing, determine which print cartridge is experiencing the problem and replace it.

It appears that the printer is having problems reading the e-label on the print cartridge. Remove and reinstall the print cartridge, then press the Select button. That should clear the problem.

Yes it is the right disk, Because 4200 is the series of printers which HP has (i.e 4210, 4210V, 4210XI) all comes under the same 4200 series, so do not worry it is the same printer driver.
Except make sure it is for the right operating system like Windows2000, WindowsXP or WindowsVista
