Question about Samsung Digimax S730 Digital Camera
My casio exlim camera fell on the grass while i was taking a pic....when i picked it up i saw that the lens was stuck opened....i tried turning it off and on but the screen read lens error or sometimes retry power on.....i can still see the pictures i had taken before it fell, but when i try to turn it on the lens comes out then goes back in.,,,,
is this problem able to fix??? How do you get the lens to go back in place in order to retrieve power?
I replace the batteries nothing happens. The Lens is stuck outward.
Already tried to connect the camera to the pc with the USB Cable nothing happensm either.
My daughter's S730 had a similar problem, but the lense was askew from top to botton, not left to right. First I tried pressing it into place. No joy. Then I tried pulling. It popped out, and now goes in and out as it is supposed to.

We dropped our Samsung s730 (twice!) and got the lens jammed slightly sideways. I read a blog somewhere about this and just did what she said- If it is stuck out and obviously jammed sideways, push on the lens the way it should sit. I had to press really hard, but it snapped back into place and now works fine!
This WILL NOT work if: The lens retracts normally and goes back out normally, or it is not OBVIOUSLY stuck slightly askew. Sadly, with cameras this low in price about the only option is to replace it as repairs would cost more than a replacement.
In the future I plan on getting a squaretrade.com damage warranty on ALL my small 'droppable' electronics, it is pretty inexpensive (usually the same price as 'store brand' extended warranties that only cover defects).

click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
