Found it at a yard sale, know nothing about it. I need a sandisk card or equivalent? How do you download songs from computer? Do they cost money? $1 ea. or so? Idt needs a cover for the battery, that shouldn't keep it from working, right? 1

Hi! Yes you will need a memory card for this and you can download songs by connecting a usb cable from the mp3 player to the computer. Cover is not really a problem, this will still work without it. Hope this helps and thank you for using FixYa!

Putting music on nokia 6205 from memory card

1. put card in computer and format
2. put card in phone, take a picture
3. open music app on phone (nothing should show up)
4. take out card, put in computer
5. copy songs to the newly created my_music folder

make sure all song filenames are only the song titles. all other information (artist, track number, album, etc, should go in the IDv3 tag as the phone will read this information).

I have 2 of these phones, and this is what seems to work for me.

Sansa shaker not playing

Funny I found this forum because I've been having the same problem. My understanding is that subscription services (yahoo music, iTunes, etc.) don't come in an mp3 file format. You can, however, add songs from cd's you own.

Here's a link you might find helpful. It's from the Sansa Forums. One of the posters describes how you can convert files. I don't know how complicated it is. Good luck! :)

I understand your frustration! I've been having the same problem. I just wasted TWO HOURS trying to get music to download onto this Shaker. The extra $40 for a better device would have been worth it! I can't afford to buy all the cd's that I'd need to fill this player with the songs my son likes. I'm thinking of bringing it back!

Sansa turns on but does NOT do anything!!! :0!!

Sounds like you have a few different problems, thankfully its easy to resolve. Run the recovery tool from the SanDisk website, select FORMAT when prompted. Best of Luck. (this only works with non Rhapsody devices, annotated by an 'R' or the word Rhapsody on back)

Can't download new songs

You should be able to get back to normal by putting your device through recovery mode. I've had to do this myself, and it worked well. Read all the way through this before you do anything, to make sure your comfortable with the process. You'll also want to make sure you've got a fresh battery in your don't want it running out of juice in the middle of this! There are two files you need to download: First, go to the SanDisk website and download the firmware update file for your player. The next file is a device driver that your computer will need to recognize your device while in recovery mode (Again, I've done this myself, and it worked great). Go to, click on the "Support" tab at the top, and select your region and language. In the "downloads" area, it asks you to select your device. Select "MP3 players", then "MuVo", then "MuVo TX FM". I know this is not the device you have, but they use the same chipset, and the drivers are also the same. Once you've entered your Operating system and language, download the "Creative Mass Storage Driver" file and run the installation wizzard. The next step is to put your player into "Recovery Mode." To do this, attach the USB cable to the player, but not yet to the computer. Push and hold the power button on the player while you connect the USB cable to your computer, and keep holding the button until your computer says it has "located a device in recovery mode." After that, you just need to run the Firmware update you downloaded from SanDisk, and you're all set. Just so you know, the firmware update WILL format your player. To be safe, take out your SD card (if you're using one), although it probably wouldn't be affected. Hope this helps you!
