Unfortunately HP says: "If you forget the power-on password, the computer must be reset at an HP-certified repair center. Please contact HP to schedule a repair. The Drive Lock password cannot be reset. If you lose or forget the Drive Lock password, the hard drive must be replaced. Please contact HP to order a new hard drive. These services are not covered by the warranty."

burn systemrescuecd to a usb flash drive, boot to it. open console. find system's hdd via "#fdisk -l" or "#dmesg | grep sd" usually, you will find that your system hdd is /dev/sdb. it will have system O.S. partitions that you can mount and navigate, read, write, copy... or you can wipe the drive, totally, "Drive Lock" and all...using "dd if=/dev/zero of=/dev/sdb bs=4MB" this will take an hour or four, depending on size of drive. you may not need to let it finish. the "Drive Lock" code may get wiped in first five seconds. PXE installation may be the only thing open to you if lock-out passwords are on everything. systemrescuecd has a simple one-touch PXEboot server built in. good luck.

Where dos jumper located on compaq 6910p and how can i remove bios password on 6910p

Most "laptop" computer do *NOT* have a jumper that can be used to bypass a BIOS password.
This is DELIBERATELY done, so that a thief in possession of your laptop cannot bypass your password, and thus cannot use your stolen laptop.

Find your original bill-of-sale, to prove ownership, and telephone HP/Compaq, and ask for Technical Supoprt in resetting the BIOS password.

I have a HP Compaq 6910p with blue lines down screen ? can you help ? Please ; )

Hello there
I had this issue too with a Vaio i had. This means that there is a faulty connection between the ribbonconnecting your LCD monitor to the motherboard. Now, you can attempt to disassemble the PC and check the connection, but this would void your warranty and if you havent done something like this before, then i dont recommend it. What you should do is take it into your local service location to get this fixed.
I hope this helps. Thumbs up always appreciated.

I have a laptop hp Compaq 6910p, and by mistake I ...

Its too risky for a user to open the laptop, access the mainboard and reset to its factory setting..

Very dangerous for the hardware too..

My suggestion is to bring your laptop to a credible technician to open your laptop, reset the cmos to its factory, and return the cover properly..

Hope you understand.

Much appreciated if you rate this help.. thanks
