Question about HP Computers & Internet

2 Answers

When I try to log into internet explorer, which I usually use to access the internet, as soon as it tries to start up, a message pops up and says 'Internet Explorer has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience.' Then it closes. This has just started the last couple of days. I can still access the internet using Mozilla Firefox, but not Internet Explorer. Any suggestions?

That is why I prefer Firefox myself. You will have to go to internet explorer tools, then options, then look at the choose how internet explorer connects to the internet and check all the settings.

U need to restore the system to an earlier date before this problem popped up,
Here is how to do this.
To use System Restore to restore Windows XP to a previous state, follow these steps:

  1. Log on to Windows as Administrator. (u are the administrator)
  2. Click Start, point to All Programs, point to Accessories, point to System Tools, and then click System Restore. System Restore starts.
  3. On the Welcome to System Restore page, click Restore my computer to an earlier time (if it is not already selected), and then click Next.
  4. On the Select a Restore Point page, click the most recent system restore point in the On this list, click a restore point list, and then click Next.

Note A System Restore message may appear that lists configuration changes that System Restore will make. Click OK.
  5. On the Confirm Restore Point Selection page, click Next. System Restore restores the previous Windows XP configuration, and then restarts the computer.
  6. Log on to the computer as Administrator. The System Restore Restoration Complete page is displayed.
  7. Click OK.
If you successfully restored your computer to a previous state, and the computer is performing as it should be, you are finished.

Do not try multiple attempts to login to your account ( more than 5 at a time ), this usually temporarily blocks the account.

Try to Clear the temp files and folder also empty the Temporary files from Internet Explorer

open Internet explorer
Click on Tools - Internet Options - Delete Files - Delete Cookies- Click Apply Ok

Close Internet Explorer - try to login again after an hour.

Trouble for several days logging into facebook

If your having trouble logging in, and its not saying you havent entered an invalid password..

Try resetting your internet explorer settings..

# Exit all programs, including Internet Explorer
# If you use Windows XP, click Start, and then click Run. Type the following command in the Open box, and then press ENTER:
inetcpl.cpl
# Click the Advanced tab.
# Under Reset Internet Explorer settings, click Reset. Then click Reset again.
# When Internet Explorer finishes resetting the settings, click Close in the Reset Internet Explorer Settings dialog box.
# Start Internet Explorer again.

If this doesnt work, try downloading mozilla, and then installing it, and then running mozilla and access FB from there.

here is a link to download mozilla.

Can't access log in pages for gmail and yahoo

Maybe you can work around this problem by using Windows Live Mail, it lets you access all of your email addresses on one page, Also when you set it up, you just have to enter the email address and it automatically sets up the rest, works pretty good.
Not sure about the website thing though.
