Trying to remove a Dacor range hood that is also a shelf for a Microwave. The brand name is Dacor and it is black probably 20 years old. Is there a diagram that shows how it is installed?

The tag that contained the model # etc. is worn bare from cleaning, so unfortunately I cannot give you a model #. The unit is black and is vented out the top, it is 30 inches wide by 27 inches long and is somehow being held in place. I've removed the vent from the top, and a couple of screws on each side but it still is being held in place rather firmly. I'am trying not to wreck my Oak cupboards it is attached to. Thanks

The blower motor is located in the very top of the unit, and is inaccessible, could the unit be glued in? The vents come down the side of the unit and go under the base where the microwave sits.

I solved the problem. I had to remove the upper cupboard doors and frame which allowed me access to the blower cover. When this was removed found two screws bolted in some studs holding the unit in place.

May we get a model # so we can help you more. If we do not have a model # then it is hard for us to help you.

Look under and in the hood area. See if you can remove the blower motor. Once that is removed then look to see if you have bolts or screws going in the wall that are holding it up. That is the only other way that it is attached.

    Good Luck

If the blower is on top that means that it is screwed to the hood for a seal. You will need to get to it to remove the hood for the cab.

FGMV205K cover removal

Good Afternoon Friend,

I understand that you want to know how to remove the cover on your Frigidaire microwave, model# FGMV205K. There are two different covers that you are able to remove for access to two different light bulbs.

If you are trying to change the Microwave Oven Light for inside your microwave:

1)To replace light bulb, first disconnect power to your microwave oven at the circuit breaker panel or by unplugging it.

2)Remove the louver by removing the three Hood Louver Screws.

3)Push in the upper tabs and pull the louver away from your appliance.

4)Remove the light bulb and replace with a new 20 watt light bulb. DO NOT USE BULB LARGER THAN 20 WATTS.

5)Close the Oven Light Cover by carefully pushing into place. Push the louver back into place (engaging both the bottom and top tabs) and change to hood Louver Screws.

If you are trying to change the light bulbs underneath your Microwave:

1)To replace light bulbs, first disconnect power to your microwave oven at the circuit breaker panel or by unplugging it.

2)To open Light Cover, remove the screw on the light cover.

3)Replace the light bulbs with new 20 watt light bulbs. DO NOT USE BULBS LARGER THAN 20 WATTS.

4)Close the Light Cover and secure with screw removed at step 2.

If further troubleshooting is needed, I ask that you please let me know the error codes displayed on your appliance. Hope this is helpful.

      -Best Regards-
      WP

Display show SE from samsung microwave range hood

The keypad has a short in the membrane, which means the keypad control board will probably need to be replaced.

Turntable not turn, light on, no heating

It would have helped if you mentioned your brand and model, but it's probably a bad door switch or door switch mount.

If it's a Sharp or Dacor brand, it's probably the bottom door switch.

My door switch text file gives you help and links for such problems. It's here.

Microwave wasn't heating properly and now the door won't open. The button you push to open the door usually has tension on it but now it has none.

You can remove the control panel assembly, then you'll be able to see the door opening parts.

At our Web site, we have a video available showing how to remove a typical over the range control panel assembly in under 5 minutes.

The Dacor PCOR30 is essentially a rebranded Sharp R-1874, so the relevant Sharp service manuals (here and here) will help you with disassembly if you need more help.

The Sharp manuals will not have the proper Dacor part numbers.

For that, see the Dacor PCOR parts list here.

Our favorite place to order Dacor parts is by part number from the Pros here.

We have a new 24"Dacor

The service manual is here and the parts list is here.
That mesh is the door screen which prevents microwave leakage.
It must be intact or replaced, or a fire hazard exists.

Died completely, no power, no panel, disgusted, 2003, brand new, mad and unscrewing model

Find the main fuse on the floor of the device near where the poser cord comes in to the cabinet. Probably needs a 20 amp ABC rated fuse available where electric parts are sold.

Don't be disgusted, you got 6 years out of it so far. As kitchen appliances go, the microwave is probably the most reliable. Treat it well and it will run for many years. Don't open the door while it is operating to protect the door safety interlock switches.

Door won't open

What usually breaks is the door open lever, but it may also be that the rear side of the door open button has worn down too far to work.

On a counter top model, the outer cover will need to be removed to diagnose and repair this. On an over-the-range model, only the control panel needs to be
removed.

If yours is a DMT2420 or other counter top model that is built into a cubbly hole and surrounded by a metal grille (built-in kit), the kit will have to be removed, then the oven will slide out of the opening.

Once it's out, you can remove the outer cover and you'll be able to see how the door open button would press against the door open lever, which would then lift up against the door latch heads (hook-like projections on the door) and the door should open.

The model tag will either be on the back or around the door frame or control panel frame, or maybe inside the cooking cavity.

We have several Dacor microwave service manuals at our site:
It's a pain, but for Dacor the parts list are separate:
Once you have the part number of the part you need, you can order by part number here.

(This site does not list Dacor by model number, only by part number)

Need part

There is an excellent site www.applianceprosparts.com that has parts for your oven. Also Dacor has an official site that you can find on the internet that has that brands particular parts and accessories. There are pictures as well to be sure that you are getting the right part. Between the two you should find exactly what you need.
