Question about Office Equipment & Supplies
When a machine like this hasn't been used for a while, and especially if it was not head cleaned , prior. Then you indeed have a problem, what happens is that the ink dries in the tubes and print head. This then needs to be all cleaned out, and replaced as maybe.
Whenever any Ink-Jet printer is to be stored or not used for a while, say a week or more, then a head clean and service should be done, even to the extent of cleaning out the waste ink tank/absorber as well. If one doesn't do this then as said before the inks dry up, inside the machine, inside the Nozzles, inside the print head too and this stops it from working.
So I would say that this is why the machine is telling you to contact the service center. As they would be the only people that would have the spare parts and knowledge to get this unit working again.
