Question about Philips Office Equipment & Supplies

1 Answer

Hi. I have a Phillips Lasefax 925. I have an error which is preventing me using the machine for anything at all. The message "PRINTING STORED DOCUMENT" constantly appears, and there is a flashing green button to the right of the display. The machine also seems to be powered up making a constant noise when switched on, like the fan is working overtime. I have tried power on and off several times, and the machine just prints the same fax last recived on every occasion. I've tried to delete the stored document, but don't know how, and have tried all the function buttons, are read the manual back to front, but can't resolve the issue. The machine is fairly new, and the phone works, but nothing on the fax wants to play. Any help appreciated. Thanks, Simon

    Hi Tim,

I had tried that, so took it a little further, and basically took the thing to bits, put it all back together, and presto, it transmitted a fax like before first time after setting date and so on. Working fine, so thanks very much for your promt, appreciate it.

    Regards

    Simon

Hmm it sounds like a memory issue inside the actual printer. You say you have tried turning off and on, but have you tried fully unplugging the unit from the wall for a good 2 minutes, hit a few buttons to make sure power is drained from the capacitors, and then plugging back in. Does it still show "print stored document?" Please let me know and I can help further.

Thanks
Tim

Ricoh c6501 sp error coad sc 925 solution

SC925 B Net File function error *GW The NetFile file management on the HDD cannot be used, or a NetFile management file is corrupted and operation cannot continue. The HDDs are defective and they cannot be debugged or partitioned, so the Scan Router functions (delivery of received faxes, document capture, etc.), Web services, and other network functions cannot be used.
HDD status codes are displayed below the SC code: • Refer to the four procedures below (Recovery from SC 925). Here is a list of HDD status codes:
Display Meaning (-1) HDD not connected (-2) HDD not ready (-3) No label (-4) Partition type incorrect (-5) Error returned during label read or check (-6) Error returned during label read or check (-7) "filesystem" repair failed (-8) "filesystem" mount failed (-9) Drive does not answer command (-10) Internal kernel error (-11) Size of drive is too small (-12) Specified partition does not exist (-13) Device file does not exist

Procedure 1
If the machine shows SC codes for HDD errors (SC860 to SC865) with SC 925, do the recovery procedures for SC860 to SC865.
Procedure 2
  1. If the machine does not show one of the five HDD errors (SC860 to SC865), turn the machine power off and on.
  2. If this is not the solution for the problem, then initialize the NetFile partition on the HDD with SP5832-11 (HDD Formatting - Ridoc I/F).
NetFiles: These are jobs printed from the document server using a PC and DeskTopBinder. Before you initialize the NetFile partition on the HDD, tell the customer:
    • Received faxes on the delivery server will be erased
    • All captured documents will be erased
    • DeskTopBinder/Print Job Manager/Desk Top Editor job history will be erased
    • Documents on the document server, and scanned documents, will not be erased.
    • The first time that the network gets access to the machine, the management information must be configured again (this will use a lot of time).
  3. Before you initialize the Netfile partition with SP5832-11, do these steps:
  4. Go into the User Tools mode and do "Delivery Settings" to print all received fax documents that are scheduled for delivery. Then erase them.
  5. In the User Tools mode, do Document Management> Batch Delete Transfer Documents.
  6. Do SP5832-11, then turn the machine power off and on.
Procedure 3
  1. If "Procedure 2" is not the solution for the problem, do SP5832-1 (HDD Formatting - All)
  2. Cycle the machine off/on.

How do i fix a cartridge jam?

Hi andmary,
While using the HP Photosmart C4180, the printer may display error messages. These messages alert you, as the printer's user, to any problems affecting the printer's performance. The printer can display the message "Carriage Blocked" on the printer's display screen, stopping any current print jobs and preventing you from printing anything until you resolve the problem. The error message can be caused by an actual obstruction, such as a stuck piece of paper, keeping the cartridge carriage from moving freely inside the printer. Sometimes the error is a result of a software error.

Instructions:
1. Turn off the printer, wait 15 seconds, then turn it back on. Press the "Setup" button on the control panel, then use the arrows to highlight "Print Report" and press the "Ok" button to print a self-test page.
2. Remove all the loose paper from the printer's input tray. Turn off the printer and open the back door by depressing the tab on the left side.
3. Pull out any stuck paper, being sure to turn the rollers to check for small pieces of paper. Close the back door and open the printer's front door.
4. Remove any stuck paper from the printer. Move the cartridge carriage from the left to the right side of the machine, removing anything that stops the carriage's movement.
5. Push down on each cartridge, then pull each one out of its slot. Replace the cartridges in their slots, then push forward on them until they each click into place.
6. Plug the printer back in and turn it on, then unplug the printer's power cord from the back of the machine and the electrical outlet. After at least 15 seconds, plug the power cord back in and turn the printer back on. If the problem persists, take the printer to a repair shop.

Hope this helps.
Thank you for using Fixya!

ERROR MESSAGE EPSON 925

Epson programmed their printer to monitor the waste ink counter and your printer has reached the maximum value allowed, you have to reset your printer to clear the waste ink counter.

You may read the information regarding "end of life" and "waste ink counter" here: http://www.epson.com/cgi-bin/Store/support/InkPadsForm.jsp

To reset the counter, download re-setter program here, install and follow the instruction in the web site.

Good luck and thank you for using FixYa.

We have a Phillips laserfax 925 and are unable to receive fax on it

Call your fax number to make sure it's coming to the fax or call a phone with caller ID from the fax to make sure the number is correct. This is usually just a simple mix up. Hope this helps.

When I turn on my printer it makes a whining sound the plastic orange strip turns and the print cartridge holder moves a little and stops. I get "general error" message and printer won't due anything

Hello, dreadhead68

How old is the printer? Printer will ware out after a few years, I had an InkJet, and it sounds like yours is doinf the same thing mine did before I had to replace the unit. My printing unit made a single move then ... nothing after that.

Have you tried to re-install the software for the printer? How was it working prior to this?

Ready Memory Received

Dear guys, your toner cartridge is low and as a preventive measure, the unit stores the faxes in order to give priority to copying and printing. If you are using remanufactured cartridges, the unit might not be displaying the low toner warning.
