Check if you see the Icon in the My Computer window.
Also check if it has any exclation mark or Red X in the Device Manager. Right Click My Computer > Manage > Device Manager. If it has any exclamation mark or Red X it mean the Driver is not installer. If it is fine then try to use a bootable disk eg: Windows XP or 7 try to boot from the Disk.
