Suggestion: Someone just might want to peek inside the Electronic Ballast Enclosure mounted within the unit's base when they have the time and inspect for signs of failure similar to what I found in mine before insisting on buying a New Switch and risking disappointment first-cut. Burnt components are a dead giveaway, as (usually) is a blown fuse, although there's nothing wrong with jumpering that fuse to see what lights-up again or smokes, atcmb.
Those little snap-in SPDT switches are really rather rugged - your unit just MIGHT have a defective switch and nothing more - but I for one do tend to doubt that notion. Best double-check first before ordering.

New bag indicator will not reset causing bare floor mode not to work at all and mode 2 not to vacuum dirt properly

Your top motor (suction motor) isn't running. Your vacuum has two motors in it. The top motor is the suction motor that runs on the first switch position and the bottom motor (brush motor) turns on with the second possition.
It could be the switch. If it isn't the switch, the only other thing it could be is the motor itself.
To check the switch, unplug the vacuum and then take the three screws out of the back of the handle. If you are comfortable with electricity, jump the black wire and the blue wire togeather and plug the vacuum into a electrical outlet. If the motor dosen't run, the problem is with the motor. If the motor runs, the switch is bad and needs to be replaced. You can get one at most any vacuum shop.
The motor could be bad or the carbon brushes can be stuck with dust. This is more involved and I recomend taking the vacuum to a vac shop that works on the "old" Electrolux vacuums. The new name for the "old" Electrolux is now Aerus Lux but you would probably get it repaired less expensively at another vacuum shop.
If you want to go into the motor housing you'll have to take the big screw out of the back of the handle and pull up on the handle to remove it. Next, remove the four screws holding the top half (motor housing) of the vacuum. Two screws on the back and two screws to the front inside of the bag housing. You'll need a long #2 phillips screw driver. Then pull up on the bag housing with a side to side motion.
With the housing removed, you will see the motor and can lift it out.
Check for any bad winding. You can smell them to check if you can't tell by looking at them. If they are burned, you will need to replace the motor.
To check the brushes, you will need a 5/16th" socket to remove the two bolts on the top of the motor and lift the top bracket with the carbon brushes off and see if the brushes move freely. If not moving or not long enough to touch the top part of the motor with the copper bars (the comutator) it would be best to replace the motor.
To reassemble the vac just reverse.
This is a long and difficult prosedure and I reccomend that you take the vacuum to a repair shop that works on the Electrolux.

My Bissell powersteam powerbrush carpet cleaner wont spray water from the floor jets or the hose. Checked the belt, its doesn't look damaged, also took it apart and cleaned the floor jets, still nothing.

Check any related mechanical and/or electrical parts, including switched, levers, buttons, valves and all water-ways. Make sure all electrical connections are clean, functioning with a multi-meter, and all pieces are NOT broken or malfunctioning and clean. replace any broken or malfunctioning parts that you can't clean or repair.

I have to hold down the power switch for my dyson (DC 25 all floors) to work.

hi.
it sounds like the catch on the switch is stuck or broken.
it may be worth spraying it with an electrical switch cleaner to see if that helps.
if not, you will have to replace the switch as they are not repairable.
switches can usually be bought from electrical repair shops .
the switch and wires are basic enough, but unclipping the plastic around the switch can be tricky, and usually involve at least one hidden screw on a dyson, so you may want to consider getting an experienced repair engineer to do the job, to avoid damaging the plastics.

I need a female threaded part for joining lamp post to lamp base for a floor lamp.

Howdy. It very much depends on the brand and country of manufacture, but you can sometimes find a plumbing or electrical conduit part at a hardware store to work for that.
Otherwise, you are in the hands of the lamp manufacturers and that does not usually turn out well as they mostly have NO customer service policy at all.
If you are able to take the relevant portion of the lamp to a good hardware store, they will help you invent a solution. Farmerbear at FixYa.com

The head on a epic doesn't work

first check the reset button on the head . next connect the hose directly to the head if its a cannister make sure your hose switch is on . if your mechanically inclined remove the screws on the bottom plate and remove the top with the hose disconnected directly connect the reset switch wires with a small piece of electrical tape connect your hose turn the vac on if it comes on either a buy a new reset switch b save money skin the wires and connect them . if that doesn't work go to the nozzel motor with the hose disconnected cut the lead wires leave plenty of slack connect an old electrical cord to the two terminals plug into a 110 outlet if it comes on your problem is in your elbow neck about $19.00 it is the part that your wands connect to if the motor doesn't come on then its your pn motor and it will need replaced $34-$50 dollars . connect everything back the way it was using correct sized wire taps and ul approved electrical tape put your screws in a safe place they are easy to use parts are avaiable on ebay cheaper than anywhere else . if you feel this job is too big contact me and i will repair it for $20.00 plus parts

Vacuum is not turning on. Is there some kind of a reset switch or a fuse that could have gone out?

There is no reset switch. First try a different electrical outlet. If that doesn't work, you may have to replace the power switch. Call the Dyson Helpline, they'll register your vacuum cleaner and direct you to your nearest repair dealer.

If your machine turned off whilst you were using it you have a blockage in the machine and you are experiencing a Thermal cut-off. Call the Dyson Helpline, they will talk you through looking for a blockage and help you find it.

Kirby G5 vacuum

check the cord. see if there are any frays. or broken spots. usually it is one of 3 things. 1, faulty electric cord. 2. the attachment or floor nozzle not being properly attached( kind of a duh issue LOL)
3. a faulty switch assy. the switch can be kind of a bear to replace. I hope it is the cord. if not i would take it to a kirby repair person, because it is very easy to damage the motor assy when replacing a kirby switch. trust me i have damaged a few learning how to do it
