Question about GE 24 in. Profile PDW9880JSS Built-in Dishwasher

Open Question

After a power surge the dishwasher does not work at all. It just beeps constantly. There are no lights on the touch pad at all. The only thing that stops it from beeping is to remove the 2 pin black and white wires. I replaced the control module. Nothing changes. Do I need to replace the touch pad? What about the 3 digit clock? These parts together cost 145 dollars. I do not want to buy these parts and put them in to find out that did not fix the issue. I also unplugged the turbidity sensor and that did not stop the beeping. It seems fine. I know that I have seen this problem on here before, but I did not see what the solution was. PLEASE let me know what the solution is.

Yes it is the control board and is more than likely from a cold soldier on the board as this is very common.

According to this link, it should reset after the power is shut off for awhile. Maybe try holding the start/reset button too. Also check the circuit breaker or any fuses

ADL348 is constantly beeping and does not complete cycle

If it beeps continuous and starts on the rinse cycle, then this is indicating the control board is bad and needs to be replaced. NOT THE TOUCH PAD, but the control board.

Have a Frigidaire FEF353bfwc. Getting error message F1 and start button lights up and beeps constantly. What to do? Can it be fixed? and what would you guess is approximate cost?

Hello there and thank you for choosing fixya
The dreaded F1 error code can be difficult to diagnose but here is the best thing to do
this is from the manufacture of the oven.
F1 Analog to Digital Failure Disconnect for 30 seconds - if display reappears - replace control board F1 Safety flip flop Replace board F1 Shorted keypad Replace keypad Here is a simple test that you can do to determine whether the clock or the touchpad are defective when the display reads F1:

- Disconnect power to the range.
- Gain access to the back of the ERC (electronic range control, or "clock").
- Unplug the touch pad ribbon connector from the ERC. This will be a flat wire about 1 ½" to 2" wide.
- Make sure everything is clear and will not short out when power is turned back on. Replace any covers removed to gain access to the ERC.
- Turn the power back on to the range.
- Watch for the F-1 and listen for the beep.
- If you get the F-1 and beep, replace the ERC.
- If after approximately 60 Minutes you do not get the F-1 fault, replace the touch pad.

NOTE: Some models incorporate the touch pad and the clock control as one part so F1 = bad clock control.

Warning: If you do not feel comfortable doing this test or making this repair please contact a qualified appliance repair technician.

The Drying light flashes and the unit beeps about once per second. At the same time the unit acts like it is washing (sounds of water washing insiide. The bottom is oompletely full of water.

so its beeping and flashing once per second correct this beeping and flashing is an error code that your unit is giving blinking lights or beeping sounds may indicate a problem with the dishwasher caused by power surges. To correct the problem, try pressing the "Start/Reset" pad to reset the dishwasher. If the problem persists, reset (reboot) the control by turning off the circuit breaker supplying the dishwasher for 30 seconds. Turn the circuit breaker back on and the dishwasher should function normally if you still have the flashing and beeping message me back Im going through the error code book as I type this if it still persists after you turned off the power then back on message me back with the number of beeps within 60 seconds as well as the number of flashing lights for instance if it does it every second or once every 5 seconds also if you have any further questions message me back them as well and please remember when our chat has fully concluded to rank how this opinion has helped it allows me to help others in similar situaitons Thanks Rick

There is a 'Cr' message on the display panel, and none of the buttons respond while this message is displayed. What does this mean, and how can it be cleared so that the dishwasher can be operated...

Mine is doing the same thing right now. It started beeping again this morning after I wiped off the touch pad. I shut the power off to it at the box and when I turned it back on to try to make it work it just showed the Cr on the display.

Pdw 9800 jooww When power came on after outage, touch panel doesn't work and there is a constant beeping noise.

Try pressing two control buttons side by side in the center of the panel. The result will light all the buttons on the panel. A test mode will follow before it resets itself.

The lock on light wont go off. We can not start the dishwasher. We have tried holding the noheat option for several seconds and have turned off the circuit box for several minutes and neither one made...

That is the correct button to push to turn the control lock off. You can try to reset the control by removing power for two minutes. If the dishwasher is doing the same thing, most likely the touch pad has a shorted button or a bad connection on the unit control board. To check touch pad connection you will have to open the console. You will want to turn the power off to the dishwasher first.

Open the console.Once the console is open, remove and install the ribbon cable a few times. Now put the door back together and restore the power. If the dishwasher works, it was just a bad connection on the ribbon cable. If the console is doing the same thing, it could be a console or a unit control faulty. I recommend the console first.

F1 error code and constant beeping and oven shuts off.

Hi gwhiz03,

If you are having error code F1 with your Jenn-Air double wall oven this is because you have a defective touch pad or clock (ERC). This simple test will help determine whether the ERC (Electronic Range Control or Clock) or the touch pad is defective when F1 error code is present.

Note: Some models incorporate the touch pad in to the ERC as a single assembly, in which case this test is not necessary. Simply replace the ERC (Clock).

Warning: If you feel in any way uncomfortable performing this test or making this repair, please contact a qualified appliance repair technician.

1. Disconnect power to the range (unplug the range power cord or turn the power off to the range at the circuit breaker). It is very important that the power to the range has been disconnected, so please double check before continuing.
2. Gain access inside the control panel.
3. Disconnect the touch pad (also called keypad or membrane switch) ribbon from the ERC.
4. Make sure there are no lose wires, or anything else that may cause a short when power is turned back on. Assemble the control panel back the way it was.
5. Turn the power back on.
6. Wait for at least one hour to see if the F1 code comes back (usually accompanied by a beeping sound).
7. If F1 comes back, replace the ERC. If it does not, replace the touch pad.

Hope this helps.

Thank you for using FixYa.

Constant beeping and F7 is displayed

Hi tahitian,

The error code F7 means that the Function key is shorted or stuck. To fix this error, replace touch pad or if touch pad is part of the clock, replace the clock (ERC).

Hope it helps.

Thank you for using FixYa.
