Question about HP LaserJet P2015 Printer

2 Answers

Stopped printing Hello, We have an HP Laserjet p2015. It has stopped printing and goes offline on it own. There is an error message in the queue. I have uninstalled the software and deleted the printer and reinstalled. It is still having the same problem. We have another P2015 so I switched them so I know it is the printer and not the computer of software. Any suggestions where I can go from here? Thanks Jeff

I have a HP LaserJet 2015dn networked in our school. It went offline on its own over holiday break and I cannot resolve it. The power is on and is connected to the internet (our school dept's server). I cannot print out a configure page because the ready light is not on. When I try, it prints a blank page. There is no paper jam and the ink cartridge door is closed. Please help. I have many teachers in the bldg relying on this printer

HP has been having some problems with this. You have 1 of 2 options:

* download a firmware upgrade - hp site - only fixes problem 50% of the time
* replace formatter - requires removal of left cover & replacement of circuit board underneath - if you're not mechanically inclined dont try it

If it is under warranty, HP may repair or replace for you.

Sounds like you need a new formatter board, you could verify this by swapping it with the good printer

Hp Laserjet P2015d has suddenly stopped working. jobs don't reach the printer. printer has to be shut off and "reset" to get jobs to print. Why?

Check to make sure the printer isn't set to Offline mode, if is ok then it sounds like a driver problem, you need to uninstall the printer driver and then reinstall it again.

Printer status offline

I just ran into the same problem. The computers on the network that were running XP were showing the printer as "Ready", but all of the computers running Vista were showing the printer as "Offline".

After trying a number of solutions that I found on other message boards, I accidentally discovered that the problem was an IP address conflict. It seems that the server changed the address on the printer, which didn't bother the XP machines but brought the Vista machines to their knees.

Press and hold the blue button (HP called it the "Go" button) for 5 seconds, which will print a configuration report. In the TCP/IP section you will see the IP address for the printer. Next, open the Printers window, right-click on the P2015 and click Properties. Click the Ports tab. Find the port that is checked and click the "Configure Port..." button. If the "Printer Name or IP Address" field differs from the IP address on the configuration report, change it to the one on the report. It took a few seconds after hitting OK for the computer and prrinter to link up again, but that solved the problem for me.
