Question about Cameras

1 Answer

I just received a nikon D3000 and in watching the How To video, the guy talks about the Set Picture Control under Shooting Menu. Mine is not highlighted and says this options is not available with my current settings. I would like to know how to make this option available and use the different controls for Standard, Neutral, Vivid, Monochrome, Portrait, or Landscape. Thank you very much!

You need to take the camera out of the point&shoot modes. Turn the mode dial to one of P, S, A, or M.

What exposure mode are you in? You can only set the Picture Control in one of the PSAM modes.

I have a Nikon D3000 digital camera. When I turn it on the info menu is displayed on the monitor and I cannot see the image that I am shooting. When I turn the info menu off it turns black and says...

That is the factory setting. If had seen the image on the LCD before taking the picture, then there was something seriously wrong with the camera. The D3000 works as SLRs have worked for over half a century, providing you with a viewfinder to compose your photos.

Brand new D3000 camera, but LCD Monitor stopped functioning -only get shooting info and other menu functions. Tried reset button but no good

Hello

For a Nikon D3000 all you will see in "camera" mode are shooting information and menu functions. The D3000 does not have a Live View feature where you can view the "live" image via the LCD, only through the viewfinder.

In review mode, you will be able to preview the images you have already taken, however.

Do not have view picture in view screen when focus camera for shooting

If you are talking about the LCD on back of camera, you are out of luck. That camera does not have what they call "Live View". If talking about through the viewfinder, make sure mirror is not locked up and lens cap is off.

How do I set up my Nikon ML-L3 remote controller for my D3000, no instructions came with it when I bought it.

Set the D3000's shooting mode to one of the two remote modes. Quick-response remote takes a picture as soon as you push the button on the remote. Delayed-response remote waits two seconds so you can hide the remote behind your back.

Nikon D3000 Monitor is black when taking a picture - any way to change it?

You can get the shooting information on it. If you're looking to use the D3000 as a point&shoot by viewing the image on the screen, then no, you have to use the viewfinder.

Set the shooting mode to either Quick-response or Delayed-remote.

Look in the manual under "Shooting Modes."
