Use a clean and dry business card to set the gap. It is perfect for the .006" suggested gap.
Good luck!

What is the air gap on the mag?

Most work fine by using a normal business car to set gap. Main thing is that it does not touch the flywheel or magnets.

Mtd yardman wont start getting feul no spark detected

if you have no spark check the contact between the flywheel magnet and mag and make sure they are clean and the gap is set ( old school the thickness of a cig. pack) if that doesn't do it check the wire and end for contact. Still no you probably need a new mag

Need air gap spec for mag

Usually new mags are delivered with a cardboard spacer to use to set the gap. It is roughly that of a business card, probably around .8 to 10 thousandths inches. Use cardboard rather than feeler gauges as the feelers are magnetic usually and will attract contaminants.

Wind? I guess it would depend on if you have open mag rims and not enclose aluminum. Do you have air gaps on your rotors? those would be high performance rotors. Calipers may have air slots if they are high performance air flow type.

No, the plug would have nothing to do with that. It's really not even necessary. Be sure you have the air gap set correctly on the armature (coil). Loosen armature, pull it back on the screws and tighten. Turn flywheel to align magnets with legs on armature. Put a busness card between the armature and flywheel and loosen screws. The gap will close. Tighten screws and air gap is set. Hope that helps. Dwain
