Broadband set up (by 3 users)

hi
i'm trying to set up my internet connection but i cant seem to do so. my modem is showing the connection is made but the pc is not allowing me to get connected. I cant even find an ip address.HELP!!!

have msi k9 series and my last 2 builds are giving me fits sayin no modem when it is supposed to be in the board. help frustrated to death
