After inserting a page break, my formatting disappears on the following page.

All that happened is you put the page break after the formatting you wanted / needed.
First make a copy of your document. Delete your Page Break where you have the problem. Go to the last letter of the last paragraph where formatting is working. I would delete the period, add a new period, and then add a new Carriage return, then a new page break.

All the formatting that was on the last working paragraph will now carry over to the new page. Here's how you can view some of Word's formatting codes:

This button displays the formatting codes in Word:

Something else you can try is:
  1. Click the Microsoft Office Button za010077102.gif, and then click Word Options.
  1. Click Display.
  2. Under Always show these formatting marks on the screen, check the check boxes for any formatting marks that you do want to show in your documents at all times.

Whenever I am reformatting, I always save a copy of my document with a different name, like with z- in the front of the name so it drops to the tail end of my listed documents, and then I don't see it in the list unless I need it for some reason.

If you highlight a page that is formatted the way you want it to be; All your selected options will be shown in the bar. You can then highlight the new chapter and apply those settings.

All the best to you,

Is there a way to put a copy of text page into microsoft word. I have a windows program in my computer. Thanks, Ken in N.H.

Hi there!

If what you trying to insert/copy is a graphics/picture in a new MS Word page, the solution is to INSERT the graphic in to it.

If that is a text page, simply open the document, highlight or press the CTRL key + A right click and copy, go back to the new MS Word page and again right click and paste.

When I make a copy, I get a blank strip running from top to bottom near the middle of the page?

Do the lines show up when you make copies with the adf and the copyboard glass? If it shows up on both you may need a new OPC drum & cleaning blade.

There is a message showing on My Canon MX310 "Check Printer 5B00", how do I fix it? Right before the message showed up I copied a document that printed with a line down the middle.

Try these procedure:
Choose RUN
Type the letter "cmd"
Type the word "net stop spooler"
Go to C drive
Choose to Windows Folder
Click show content
Choose system32 folder
Choose spool folder
Choose printer
And delete all printing jobs pending
Again go back to CMD window and type the word "net start spooler"
Restart your computer also turn off your printer and switch it on.
It will work fine right now
I hope it helps you

When i am giving a single page printout it will printout another copy of blankpage

Please open the document, There is probably a second page added to your word document.

Open the file, go to page 2, press backspace.

When you select print option, now check how many pages its showing for printout.

If its showing one page then your file is perfect now.

My three in one hp printer only shows three options: scan, copy, and copy. How do you make it print?

Try to print a sef test page. If self test page prints successfully then try to print a document from word.

After printing, the page has a line close tho the middle..

I couldn't find an exact solution to your problem, but suspect that the issue has to do with how the in carriage is calibrated. published a web page for this product that shows how to perform a series of diagnostic tests that may lead to a solution:

Streaks or Lines on the Printed Page

Although you don't mention a problem with copying as such, this next web page seemed related enough for me to include it:

White Lines Through Copies

Hope this helps you track down and solve the problem. Good luck.
