I have a asus M4A785TD-V EVO MB 4GB OF DDR3 RAM. Mother board + video card SAPPHIRE HD5850 3D , BUT I GET NO SOUND FROM THE SYSTEM IT . It GIVES An error marked ON THE DEVICE MANAGER UNDER THE SOUND TAB FOR AUDIO DEVICE ON HIGH DEFINITION AUDIO BUS & every time i restart the system gives a popup that a new device is installed and their are no drivers in the asus drivers cd for these. I'm posting with no OS stated, to make this harder, and not asking at ASUS dot com.
Can be a hardware problem so get a usb sound card, they're cheap

BTW W10 don't run on this PC. many dead chips. if you try,

as are that VIA sound chip, hopeless.
The the OEM ASUS, does not support W10?
I think W7 is max here.

SB7 series it is.
amd does have drivers for newer OS seen below. this may make it more stable.

It's intended for Win 7 but could work in Win 8 and 10 as well.
Note that asus has no support for this M/B above Win 8.1

Hey Nishit you can also try this to rule out audio is enabled in SERVICES > PRESS Windows an R key on your keyboard in the runbox that appears type services.msc and scroll to windows audio it may be just audio on version your using and make sure it is enabled on automatic and is also running if not press START AND SET TO AUTOMATIC...do not mess with any other settings in here as you can crash your O.S. just what i stated if it is running >my computer advanced here is a set of 4 tabs in one is a setting to also install device drivers an icons as you get updates from windows update make sure this is also pressed to always install the best drivers from windows update if all else fails uninstall the entire device via device mananger it may have a mis or corrupt configuration after uninstalling reboot and both the device and driver will reinstall the device will prompt with a found new hardware allow all and second driver will install itself if none work repost ...hope this helps... still no luck googl iobit driver updater its also on cnet it scans your device and finds oudated or not installed drivers and actually finds them with the free version you have to install one by one manually but in a pinch its worth a shot just as a rule of thumb you should only download driver updates from the OEM THESE ARE ALWAYS FREE JUST FIND PC SERVICE TAG AND SEARCH OEM SITE AND ALL YOUR DRIVERS WILL APPEAR DO REPOST IF CANT GET A DRIVER THANKS
Sounds like you need to either reinstall the driver or find an updated audio/sound card. Install this driver despite what windows 10 says if you are using window 10 that is if windows 7 or 8 this should work.
