Reach inside the drum and feel the drum inserts to see if one of those has come loose. Sometimes you can have one of those screws back out and hit something on the inside. Could also be a bent drum (doubtful unless its been overloaded or abused real bad) a front slide is bad (would probably cause squeeking or grinding noise) or rear bering (also should squeek or grind). The front tub support needs to be replaced. It is a felt seal the tub rides on and is getting worn, and the sheets are getting between the drum and seal. no the dryer does not need to be replaced.
