First of all you need an application on your computer such as Avid that you can download video to.
I used mac a long time ago so I only know Avid is supported on mac's on windows XP professional you get a free package called film maker anyway you must have an application on your PC that ingests Video.
Once you have that look around your camera for a small output connector that looks like two rectangles on there side it's called a 1394 fire wire port on small cameras like yours they are 4 pin on larger ones they are 6 pin.
Now on your computer you should have the same fire wire socket Laptops 4 pin Workstations normally 6 pin you need to connect a fire wire cable between the camera and the computer.
Once connected the computer wizard should see a new device and try and load the driver if it can’t find one you will have to go to the cannon website and download one for your camera, it's unlikely that automatic searching for one will find one as auto search only goes to the Microsoft site.
Once you have an application and the fire wire is connecting the camera to the computer you will be able to import the video from your camera and edit it.
Being a broadcast editor I know small systems can be tricky let me know how you get on and if I can help further I will. Best of luck
Hope this helps.

Can I hook up to the DW 100 Canon burner with my ZR200 to burn mini tapes on DVD?

No. The Canon USA web site says the Canon DW-100 has a USB terminal and works with "USB 2.0 Hi-Speed (with compatible Canon camcorders only)." In other words, the Canon DW-100 burner works only with Canon's USB 2.0 camcorders. I have a Canon ZR200. The ZR200 has Firewire 400 digital video output, not USB 2.0 output. The USB port on the ZR200 is ONLY for still images. Video will not and cannot be output through the USB port on the ZR200. (Page 121 in the ZR200 manual mentions using the USB port on your camcorder for transferring still JPEG images to your computer.) You need a DVD burner with "DV Input" (also called Firewire 400 or IEEE 1394) to hook up your camcorder to burn Mini-DV tapes onto DVD. The Sony VRDMC10 Stand Alone DVD Recorder/Player has DV Input. The ZR200 camcorder did not come with a Firewire cable, but you can buy one at any electronics store or at a cheaper price online. Make sure that you get the right kind of Firewire cable, 4-pin to 4-pin or 4-pin to 6-pin, whatever the DVD burner you choose requires. (Your ZR200 has a 4-pin DV port on the camera's end.) USB 2.0 Hi-Speed (with compatible Canon camcorders only)

Canon ZR200 mini DV Digital camcorder power is not coming.

First thing, clean your battery contacts, both on the battery, and on the camcorder. Make sure the battery is charged fully (measure it if you have a voltmeter). Make sure your power adapter is putting out voltage (again, measure it if you can) Try a spare battery, if you have one, to make sure the first one isn't just dead. Other than those things, you could have a faulty or broken power switch on the unit. That's about all I can think of offhand.

Canon zr200

This is the description of the feature you need: "Have friends in far-off places? Turn your ZR200 into a Webcam for Internet Video Chat with Microsoft Windows Messenger through IEEE1394. It's all possible thanks to the DV Messenger2 software, available as a free download for ZR200 owners. DV Messenger2 allows you to control the zoom and focus of your ZR200 or the camcorder of the person you are chatting with. Preview thumbnails and transfer photos. You can even watch and control the video playback of either camcorder right from your computer." You can download DV Messenger Version 2 only after registering with Canon, see the bottom of the following page: http://www.usa.canon.com/consumer/controller?act=ModelInfoAct&tabact=DownloadDetailTabAct&fcategoryid=326&modelid=11004 I believe the drivers are included in the download. Please update the question & let us know if the information given was useful to you - Good Luck!
