My dryer is no longer getting hot, I can only find a serial number, therefore having a hard time looking up my unit. Serial #MT0514392

The elements are usually not interchangeable. You can use a website like appliance parts pro to look up both units by model number to see what the elements look like. They usually have diffferent mounting hardware or the enclosure might be different, some mount to the back wall and others mount underneath the drum.

A serial number for ANY series of a manufactured item identifies each individual item. A serial number can be just numbers or a combination of numbers and letters. Each serial number is unique.

You can go to the following website and enter the info requested at the bottom of the page and it will give you the date of the dryer. You will need both your model & serial numbers. The manufacturers do recycle their model numbers about every 11 or 12 years, so you may get a range of dates.

One thing that you can check, look at the exhaust hose coming out of the back and make sure that it is not kinked in any way and if you can, pull the dryer out and make sure that the hose is clear of any blockage. Usually when you have longer drying times it caused by poor air flow.

It is possible that the heating element has burnt out or a high limit switch (safety device to prevent overheating) has gone out. Element is located at the bottom of the dryer on the oppisite side of the exhaust. Looks like a toaster coil. Any break in the coil and no heat. New elemenrts can be purchased at an appliance parts house with the serial and model numbers for your unit to ensure correct part.

Some newer vehicles allow you to retrieve the audio unit serial number electronically from the radio.
