Thanks for using FixYa. It seems to be the issue with the Thermal Fuse going bad and needs to be replaced. It is mounted to the exhaust duct inside the back cover panel. Also, often a dryer heating element burns out, but doesn't trip the circuit breaker or blow a fuse. The heating element is simply a long coil of special wire. You can check it for continuity with an ohm meter. No continuity means the element is bad and you need to replace it. Please do accept the solution if the issue is resolved or post a comment for further assistance.

Where would I find the fuse(s)? , on a M460-G Elec Kenmore dryer?

Check the circuit in your main breaker box that feeds the dryer, I had this happen to me, and that was my problem, reset it, and the problem was solved for me. Good luck

Dryer does not heat

Check the breaker first, then the wiring at the receptacle, then at the back of dryer. If that is ok , then remove top to see if any wiring is loose or burned. Since it spins, you will want to check the heating element for continuity. This could be the problem if all else is ok.on your breaker, it will be a double pole breaker. Though it may not be tripped, one leg could be, so then just turn it off then reset. I have found this to be helpful in most cases. Try all this, if it doesn't get, let me know back, I will be checking this often. One other thing to look at is the relay switch. It is located near the top under the cover it is about the shape of 8-10 quarters stacked up . To test it, just bypass the relay and if the heat comes on, you will know that it is the relay . It costs about 12dollars. Good luck, Bill

LG elec dryer will not turn on...

Check your breaker. When you swapped one of the hot legs (red and black) with the neutral (white) the breaker should have tripped as soon as you plugged it in. If the breaker isn't tripped, check the wiring diagram to see if there are any internal fuses in the control panel that might have fried.

Dryer elec. works great no heat

You either have a breaker tripped, a wire has burned off in the back, hi limit switch is bad(located under the hood) or last the element has burned in two.

Amana dryer

Check your fuses or breaker. An electric dryer requires 240 volts to operate. In a fuse box system, 2-30 amp fuses are required for an electric dryer to operate. If 1 fuse is blown it will not start or heat depending on which fuse is blown.
In a breaker system the breaker can trip and sometimes look ok. Find your 30 amp dryer breaker and reset it by flipping the lever to off, then back on.
If this doesn't help, you may have a faulty door switch or maybe your door has loosened from the hinges and has sagged a bit, breaking contact with the door switch plunger.
If you can locate the door switch, push on the plunger... you should hear an audible click...if you do then the door switch is normally ok, but not always, it is just a simple test to rule a bad switch which is normally silent if it is faulty.
You may want to inspect for a burned wire or wire termination.
Make sure dryer is unplugged from the power source before inspecting!!!
Other than the previous instructions, it is difficult for a novice to diagnose the a technician in to fix your dryer.
1 more thing, Just because a breaker appears to be on, and/or you flipped it off then on, doesn't mean the breaker is ok. Fuses also can look good and be bad. A small volt-ohm meter($10.00) is a good investment for testing voltage, and to save time and money.

Hope this gets you up and running.

Dryer will not start, timer sounds like it is running

Possibly a door switch, or starting switch near timer assembly. it could also be a bad breaker, dryers have a double breaker, even if you are getting electricity to part of your dryer 1 bad breaker might not let the rest of the dryer work. With electrical experiance, and elect. tools, have some one test breakers and plug voltage.
